According to Sharia, it is valid to use safety pins for Ihram. The minimum punishment found in the state of Ihram is covering a part of the body that cannot be covered, such as the face, which necessitates atonement. When at least a quarter of that body part is covered, this occurs. In the case of a safety pin, this won’t even constitute a violation of Ihram and can be done without facing any penalty.

Women are not bound to any strict dress code and are free to dress in whatever they like. The clothing should be traditional Islamic simplicity with a head covering of any colour. Socks are accepted but the hands and faces are not covered.

Even though covering the face is prohibited in Ihram, using a cloth that hangs over it without touching it is permissible.
