The most logical diagnosis is caused by a bad operator signal so that customers experience failure when accessing USSD. Because the location of the problem is in the network, we can solve the problem independently.
How to Overcome Invalid MMI Codes for All Operators and Cellphones
Notifications about invalid MMI code connection problems usually appear when we want to enter a voucher code or buy an internet package via a dial code. Even though it sounds quite trivial, the fact is that this problem is quite inconvenient if we are in certain conditions. For example when you run out of quota but fail to buy an internet package.
Even more so if we are in a hurry or have to fill up internet quota as soon as possible. Armed with this case, I finally visited several forums and asked directly to the customer service of various operators. How to deal with an invalid MMI code and failed to purchase an internet package?
Invalid MMI codes can cause several problems when using a cellphone, including:
Failed to buy internet package.
Failed to access USSD Dial code.
Cannot exchange voucher code.
Not connected to the network.
So what should we do when we find this out? first don't panic. Because these problems can be solved easily without having to contact the CS operator. Just follow some of the tutorials below properly and correctly.
What is an MMI Code
Even though connection problems or MMI codes often arise, the fact is that not everyone knows what they mean. MMI codes refer to command codes with combinations of numbers and characters such as * and #. MMI itself stands for Man Machine Interface which incidentally works like customer service.

Its main function is to check pulses, check quotas, buy internet packages, even check IMEI. But sometimes the code can also backfire for mobile users due to frequent connection problems or invalid MMI codes.
Network Settings
One way to solve connection problems or invalid MMI codes is to change the network pattern. That means we have to change the mode and adjust to the best signal capture quality in the area. The reason is that sometimes cellphones are set to capture 4G signals only.
Even though there is absolutely no 4G signal in that area and it causes an invalid MMI code message to appear when accessing UMB. This is the reason why we have to change the network mode and adjust it so that we can catch the best quality signal.
Broadly speaking, smartphone users can change the network mode in two different ways. First, it will automatically pass the UMB dial code so that the selected connection will be directly specific. Second, manually through the settings menu on the cellphone.

How to deal with the first invalid mmi code is quite easy and I think it can be done on all cellphone brands. In addition, the dial codes below are also valid for all operators, from Telkomsel, XL, Tri, to even Smartfren. For more details, please refer to the following tutorial:
Open the dial menu on the phone.

On the new page select Phone Information.
The final step select WCDMA Preferred.
Thus your network mode will only read WCDMA connections and ignore other options. Next, please try to buy an internet package or exchange a top-up voucher again. See if the invalid MMI code connection problem message still appears or not.
