The applications of coconut oil are endless. It works great for many DIY cosmetic projects, including making cold-process soap and lip balm. While coconut oil is very moisturizing when applied directly to the skin, it gives cold-process soap more cleaning qualities when coupled with sodium hydroxide.

If it makes up more than roughly 33% of the total mix, the bars may feel overly drying and cleaned. If you have an unusually high superfast level, you can produce soap using only coconut oil. One of my all-time favorite soap recipes uses 20% superfat and 100% coconut oil. It is an absolutely luscious mixture. I also pulled out a mantra swirl with an embed and power-packed it with goodies like coconut flour and aloe vera juice.

Coconut oil is the ideal oil for extreme super fatting because of its long shelf life and stability. This coconut oil soap recipe produces an extremely hard bar, has wonderful lather, and doesn't irritate the skin.

Here are some steps which can help you to make your own coconut oil soap with 100% pure coconut soap.

Why Should You Need To Make This Soap At Home

As coconut oil is the best moisturizer for your whole body, think if you can get the same moisturizer in your soap at home which will be pocket friendly with 100% pure coconut oil. Financially, it makes a lot of sense to create your own liquid soap. It's a little daunting, but when you've done it, you'll see it's not that hard. Surprisingly, liquid Castile soap is pricey. Making it yourself not only allows you to manage the components you use, but it also offers significant financial savings. For persons with allergies and skin sensitivities, this is very beneficial.

Ingredients

76° Coconut Oil, 36 ounces

A total of 5.18 ounces of sodium oxide

Cooled 10.53 ounces of aloe vera juice

Fragrance, 1.5 ounces

1 teaspoon coconut flour

Balls of soap for embeds

Mica, 2 teaspoons

Infuse Coconut Oil

To add color, you must first add annatto seeds to the coconut oil. There are various ways to infuse oils with annatto seeds, but you must utilize the "rapid" approach for this project. Put 21 ounces of heat-safe coconut oil in the container. Heat the oils in the container in the microwave until they reach a temperature of about 160 °F. While removing the container from the microwave, use caution because it will be very hot. Directly pour the annatto seeds into the oil. After the first hour, warm the coconut oil in the microwave to continue the annatto seed infusion for around two hours. If you'd like, you can give the annatto seeds more time to infuse the coconut oil, which might produce a more deep color.

Second, to get the annatto seeds out of the oil, pour it through a strainer with fine mesh. You may lose a small amount of oil during the filtration process, so measure the amount of oil you have left. If you don't have the entire 21 ounces of uninfused coconut oil required for the recipe, simply add extra to the container until you do. Oil is set aside. Combine 0.3 ounces of bergamot essential oil and 0.5 ounces of litsea essential oil in a glass essential oil-safe container. Place aside.

Third, when the lye has completely dissolved and the solution is clear, slowly and carefully adds the lye to the water and stir. Place aside to cool to approximately 130° F. The coconut oil with annatto has been fully melted and heated to 120–130 °F. You must soap on the warmer side for this recipe to assist prevent false traces. Read more about erroneous tracing here. Add the lye water to the oils and stick blend until a thin trace after the mixture has cooled to between 120 and 130 °F. This recipe does not call for sodium lactate because it is made entirely of hard oils. In roughly 5 to 6 hours, the bars will be able to unmold.

Some Other Easily Available Ingredients

Here are some ingredients which are pocket friendly and easy to obtain.

Coconut Oil

Here are some other ingredients which can be easily found in markets and can be used as another option. Coconut oil is unavoidably necessary. Coconut oil is available in virgin or refined forms. Which option you pick truly doesn't matter. Avoid using coconut oils that have been manipulated to melt at a different temperature or that have been fractionated.

Lye

After coconut oil, lye is required. You will require a different kind of lye than that used in bar soaps if you want to make liquid soap. KOH, potassium hydroxide, will be used to make liquid soap.

Glycerine

Glycerin is required while producing liquid soap for several reasons. Normal soap production by-products include glycerin. Making liquid soap becomes simpler and more reliable with additional glycerin.

In addition to speeding up the procedure and making it simpler and quicker, it is thought to provide additional benefits. Glycerin-based soap pastes are typically simpler to saturate with water and they could be more translucent and hydrating for the skin.

Water

Water will also be a part of our lye solution. Using distilled water is usually advised to prevent adding contaminants and minerals that could cause a hazy soap.

How To Make It

Manufacturing bar soap and making liquid soap are fairly comparable processes. However, the majority of individuals hot process their liquid soap. To aid complete the saponification process, they will therefore heat it in some way. Recommended using a slow cooker to make this soap. Therefore, you can add the measured coconut oil to a slow cooker and let it melt there if you're using one. If not, make sure to always attempt to melt the coconut oil in a big dish.

Next, Put the water and glycerin in a different, medium-sized basin and stir them together. Weigh the potassium hydroxide in a different, smaller basin Add the KOH to the glycerine and water combination. Once the KOH has completely dissolved into the water and glycerine mixture, combine the two. Initially foggy, the sky will eventually become clear. Also, it will become exceedingly warm.

After that, Pour with caution, and slowly combine the warm coconut oil and KOH mixture. Either a big bowl or the slow cooker crock itself can be used for this. Blend the items collectively using an immersion blender. Eventually, the mixture will start to thicken. The combination will probably start to seem gritty a few minutes later. Mix continuously.

Immediately after the liquid becomes smooth once more, it will begin to thicken. When that happens, you might want to take the immersion blender out because the mixture immediately turns into a paste.

Now, start to cook the soap paste. To complete the saponification process and create a transparent soap, the paste should be heated once it has formed. If you don't have a slow cooker, you can spread the paste out on a baking sheet and bake it in the oven for around 70 to 160 degrees Fahrenheit.
