Stay Ahead of the Game with 2023 CPT Evaluation and Management Coding Changes

The American Medical Association (AMA) has recently released important updates on the CPT Evaluation and Management (E&M) Code and Guidelines that will take effect on January 1, 2023. The CPT E&M codes are used to report the evaluation and management services performed by healthcare providers, such as physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. The 2023 CPT E&M updates will introduce several modifications, deletions, revisions, and new codes to the current system. Some of the key changes include the addition of new codes for prolonged visits, updates to the guidelines for nursing facility and residence services, and revisions to codes for hospital inpatient and observation care, office consultations, and emergency department consultations.

It is important to note that these changes will significantly affect the revenue of healthcare providers if they are not immediately implemented as of January 1, 2023. The updated codes will play a crucial role in the proper documentation of services, and providers must understand the new codes and guidelines to ensure they are reporting their services accurately.

The goal of this 60-minute webinar is to share the essential information published by the AMA on the upcoming 2023 CPT E&M Code and Guidelines changes and help healthcare providers prepare for the transition. During the webinar, we will review all the codes that have been modified, deleted, revised, and newly established. We will also provide guidance on how providers can implement these changes in their practices and ensure they are reporting their services accurately.
