Guide to Changing or Cancelling JetBlue Flight

JetBlue is a great airline to fly on, but sometimes you have to cancel your flight or make changes to it. It's not as simple as calling the airline and canceling your ticket—you have to follow specific rules in order to do so.

JetBlue Flight Change Policy

JetBlue Change Flight Policy allows you to change your flight once for free, either by calling its customer service or through the JetBlue app.

You can also cancel a flight without any fees if you do so within 24 hours of booking a flight. However, if you cancel after this period, JetBlue charges $75 per ticket.

If you want to change or cancel your ticket outside of the 24-hour window, it will cost you $100 per ticket. The airline does not charge fees for changes made within 30 days of departure.

Here are some of the most common reasons JetBlue customers change their flights:

  • Death in the family
  • Injury or illness
  • Change in employment status
  • Relocation/moving out of state
  • Military deployment
  • Emergency travel (such as hospitalization)

If you're traveling for any of these reasons, you may be eligible for a refund for your unused ticket. If you purchased your ticket with a

credit card, we can provide information on how to file a claim through your credit card company. If you paid with cash or debit, we'll issue a refund directly back into your bank account within 5 business days after we receive your request.

JetBlue Cancellation Policy

As per JetBlue Cancellation Policy, If you need to cancel your Reservation, you may do so up to 24 hours before the scheduled departure time of your first flight. If you cancel within 24 hours of your scheduled departure time, the cancellation fee is $100 per person for domestic flights and $200 per person for international flights.

If you cancel at least 24 hours before your scheduled flight, JetBlue won't charge you anything. However, if you cancel within the 24-hour window, they will charge $150 per ticket. If you don't arrive on time and don't call ahead to say so, they'll charge $150 per ticket.

You can cancel your flight up to 24 hours before departure, and you'll receive a full refund.

If you cancel your flight within 24 hours of departure, you'll receive a full refund if your ticket was purchased at least 14 days in advance; otherwise, you can get a refund for the unused portion of your ticket.

In the event of flight delays or cancellations, JetBlue will rebook you on another flight, but only if it's within the same calendar year. If the new flight is outside of that time frame, they will provide compensation equal to 200 percent of the fare paid for that leg of your original itinerary (up to $400).

How can I change my JetBlue flight without paying a fee?

If you need to change your JetBlue flight, the first thing to do is contact the airline directly. You can do this by calling the number provided on your ticket or by visiting their website and logging in. If you are unable to make the change through these methods, then you will be required to pay a fee.

You can also make changes via JetBlue's mobile app. To do so, log into your account and select "Manage My Booking." From here, you will see all of your trips as well as any upcoming flights that have been booked under that account. Select "Change Trip" next to the trip to which you wish to make changes. Then select "Edit" next to the reservation that needs updating. Make sure that all information is correct before submitting it!
