However, a major drawback of DC is that the infrastructure is limited. Most power grids are entirely dependent on alternating current, making the widespread usage of DC charging rather difficult. In spite of the difficulties, DC charging is becoming more prevalent.

Features of AC 

Earlier, it was believed that AC is comparatively safer than DC, at least in the case of power grid applications. Since AC voltages can be altered easily with the help of transformers, extremely high voltages are not used inside homes or for businesses. AC power is also readily available and also allows charging stations to use the infrastructure that exists. If the power outlet needs to be used frequently, then using AC power is recommended for charging EVs. It is advisable to limit the use of DC power for charging EVs. Thus, using an AC charger for EV is recommended.

Conclusion 

Initially, there was a ton of doubt regarding the usage of power and whether one is better than the other. However, over the years, both AC and DC powers have been used for different purposes across the globe. Moreover, when it comes to charging EVs, there should simply be no reason for worry as both AC and DC charging stations can be used for charging EVs.
