How does a screw air compressor work?

A screw compressor is a positive displacement compressor that compresses the gas using two spiral-meshed screws or rotors. Gas is compressed using a positive displacement rotary mechanism. 

Air or gas is compressed using Screw Air Compressor Manufacturers. The first rotor of the screw compressor receives power from the electric motor through a shaft when it is running. Then, it rotates and also turns the other rotor. 

At the suction end of the compressor, a cavity is created when these two meshed rotors rotate. This cavity causes a pressure difference between the compressor's internal and external sides, which causes outside air to be drawn into the compressor. 

The trapped air keeps moving from the inlet side to the outlet side. Finally, the pressurised air is released from the discharge valve and put into the storage tank for later use. 

 

The working principle of a screw air compressor- 

The male rotor drives the female rotor in an oil-injected screw compressor technology, and a timing gear drives both rotors in an oil-free screw compressor technology because both rotors will run harmonically with the least amount of calculated clearance between both elements. The screw element was first developed in the 1930s. A screw compressor works on the simple premise that air is drawn between the male and female rotors as they rotate in opposite directions. Compressed air is created and pushed to the outlet as the air moves along the rotors and is compressed as the volume gap between the rotors shrinks. 

To reduce mechanical losses (caused by heat at very high speeds) and volumetric losses, optimise the rotor speed at a specific level (air losses because of low rate). 

Screw air compressor manufacturers operate at high speed and enormous flow rates while fitting inside a compact exterior. Unlike a piston compressor, it typically lacks valves and has no mechanical force that creates unbalance.
