All distribution options for your kitchen

Having spent so much time at home over the last two years has made kitchens regain that prominence they once had in homes. We have once again enjoyed the ritual of cooking as a family, spending more time in this room of the house. For this reason, a kitchen distribution that allows it to be comfortable, cosy and functional is increasingly valued.

But which distribution to choose from among all the possible ones? Today we will assess the most common distributions based on our experience as a custom kitchen store in Madrid.

Ways to distribute your kitchen cabinets design

Before choosing the layout of the kitchen, it is essential to stop and analyze basic aspects such as the shape and width of the space, the plan of the room (location of windows, doors, partitions), and the needs and lifestyle of the people who they will use it...

It seems obvious that for a couple without children who usually eat and dine away from home, the kitchen will not be as important a room as it is for a large family that usually cooks daily. In the same way, as much as a person would like a kitchen with an island, it will be difficult for them to opt for this distribution if their kitchen has only a few square meters.

At Stylohome, we consider all these aspects when designing and installing custom kitchens in Madrid. We can say, in general terms, that among the most demanded kitchen distributions are:

1.- L-shaped kitchens:

If your kitchen is too small to give it a U shape, the alternative solution may be an L shape. In this distribution, a wall and a half are used with a countertop and furniture, freeing the rest of the space.

On many occasions, this type of kitchen allows you to take advantage of that free space to set up a small dining area or add space for storage if you need it or for more decorative purposes.

2.- U-shaped kitchens:

It is one of the most comfortable and recommended distributions, especially if you like to cook.

With this distribution, three of the kitchen's four walls are used, with countertops and furniture on all of them. Without a doubt, it is a spacious kitchen, comfortable for cooking and living, with great storage capacity and perfect, as we said if you have a large space to create your kitchen.

3.- Online kitchens:

It is a widely used kitchen layout, especially in homes where the kitchen is very narrow, rectangular and with few meters available. If the width of your kitchen is less than 2 meters, this distribution is the most recommended.

Here only one side of the kitchen is furnished, placing tall cabinets to use the space up to the ceiling. This way, you can have more space to store things without taking up space in the middle, which is usually small.

4.- Kitchens in parallel:

It is one of our favourite distributions, but you also need a lot of space for this. It is perfect for long and rectangular kitchens, especially those with a door at each end.

The parallel design with furniture on both sides is very practical for cooking and working comfortably in the kitchen, but as long as there is a minimum of 1.5 m between the two shelves.

5.- Kitchens with island:

It is undoubtedly the most modern, elegant and functional kitchen design. It also gives rise to a very practical space since the central island not only creates a very comfortable work area but can also be a storage space and a dining area...

In addition, these kitchens with an island invite dialogue, to participate in culinary tasks, to enjoy cooking more... Without forgetting that from an aesthetic point of view, they are very beautiful and sophisticated kitchens.
