What is the NDIS? morethanjustcare.com.au

The NDIS service provider clarence street is a new financing arrangement for disability care for Australians with a permanent and significant disability. It aims to give people the freedom to choose a life that is best for them.

Participants receive money from the government based on their needs and purchase services and supports from registered providers who are in a marketplace. Market robustness is critical to NDIS success.

NDIS Information Market

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) has the potential to change the lives of thousands of people with disability, their families, friends and carers. However, many people still struggle to access the services they are funded to receive under their NDIS plan.

The NDIS is a system that helps people with a disability to create a support plan, which includes a budget for supports and services, after they have passed an eligibility assessment. They can choose to have their supports and services delivered by a registered NDIS plan manager, or they can self-manage their funding and take responsibility for the purchase of those services from the open market.

The NDIA is working with markets across Australia to ensure participants have access to the supports they need, whether that be through a range of strategies including market facilitation, coordinated funding proposals, direct commissioning and more. These strategies aim to address market gaps faced by particular geographical locations, cohorts or disability support types.

NDIS Information Fair

The NDIS is the federal government’s plan to coordinate and fund disability services nationally. Designed to improve outcomes for Australians with disability, the NDIS is expected to support hundreds of thousands of people across Australia to gain more time with family and friends, greater independence, access to new skills, jobs or volunteering in their community, and an improved quality of life.

The NDIS is being trialled in the Hunter region and is a model for what is to come in NSW. However, the NSW Government has already confirmed it will be withdrawing from frontline disability and home care services by 2018. The PSA has been active in the trial area since March and has been proactive in negotiating with the Federal Government to ensure our members are looked after. The Association is proud to be a part of the NDIS juggernaut and will continue to represent its members in the lead up to this important change.

NDIS Information Session

This is a three hour workshop run by AFDO (Australian Federation of Disability

Organisations) for people with disability and their families/carers to learn about the NDIS. It will cover what the NDIS is, how it works and how to use your plan to live a better life in the community.

The NDIS is Australia's national disability insurance scheme, designed to help people with disability access funding to pay for supports and services. It also offers support and resources to people with disability, their families and carers.

The NDIS is a major reform of the way disability services are delivered in Australia. It is the first federally administered disability services system in Australia.

NDIS Information Day

The NDIS is an Australian Government initiative that aims to improve the lives of people with disability. It provides funding for ‘reasonable and necessary' supports and services to help people with disability achieve their goals.

The scheme uses a person-centred approach, with a focus on individual needs and growth. NDIS gives participants control over their funding, with the option to switch between Core Support, Capacity Building and Capital Support categories as their needs change.

It also takes a lifetime approach, focusing on early intervention to improve outcomes for children with disabilities throughout their lives.

If you have any concerns about the way you are being treated or NDIS service provider Sydney are delivering services to you, you can make a complaint to the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (QSC). This is an independent agency responsible for making sure NDIS services and supports are delivered fairly.

We also support NDIS eligible Year 12 school leavers to access transition supports to help them to find work after finishing Year 12. This is called School Leaver Employment Supports.
