Summary of experience in using commonly used drugs in veterinary clinic

Among the veterinary clinical medicines, vaccines, chemical medicines, antibiotics, traditional Chinese veterinary medicines, etc., including nutritional medicines represented by vitamins, amino acids and trace elements. Among so many drug classes, chemical drugs and antibiotics are mostly drugs with antibacterial function, so they are collectively called antibacterial drugs. Veterinary antibacterial drugs are widely used in veterinary diagnosis and treatment, which has effectively promoted the large-scale development of livestock and poultry breeding industry. Therefore, it is not an exaggeration to say that it is one of the basic supports for the discovery of modern animal husbandry.

However, in recent years, as the country’s requirements for the standardization of veterinary drugs have become higher and higher, veterinary drugs have also changed from the prevalence of compound drugs and the use of prohibited drugs in the past, and now they are increasingly turning to national standard single preparations. This has turned the "medicine combination" technology of non-standard production of veterinary drugs in the past, mainly prescription/compound preparations, into a new era of veterinary drugs based on national standard single preparations with "strict separation of medicine and medicine". What is the strict separation of medicines? That is to say, veterinary drug manufacturers specialize in the research and production of drugs, and the prescription technology is returned to the veterinary function.

In this way, due to the requirements of the times, the traditional role of veterinarians must be transformed into a role of veterinarians in the new era that pays equal attention to "seeing doctors and prescribing prescriptions", so as to be qualified for the work requirements of practicing veterinarians in the new era. That is to say, it is no longer enough to meet and serve the needs of the breeding industry just like traditional veterinarians who only care about seeing a doctor and taking good care of them. For this reason, veterinarians must understand the pharmacology of drugs, especially the "use experience/experience" outside of professional pharmacology books, which is the key to prescribing good medicines.

To this end, we took the time to briefly summarize the following technical experience in the use of drugs for reference and application by interested friends. We all know that in daily veterinary clinics, in addition to the common Escherichia coli, Salmonella and Clostridium welchii, there are also some unconventional bacteria such as mycoplasma, chlamydia, and Avibacterium rhinotracheitis. These pathogenic microorganisms are generally only resistant to tetracycline. Drugs, macrolides (such as erythromycin) and fluoroquinolones (such as enrofloxacin) are effective.

Another example is tuberculosis, which is not a very common pathogenic microorganism, and there are few effective drugs for it. Generally, only aminoglycosides (such as streptomycin) and fluoroquinolones (such as mobofloxacin) are effective. For the treatment of anaerobic infection, there are even fewer drugs. For the treatment of such pathogenic microbial infections, drugs such as lincomycin, penicillin (except Bacteroides fragilis), metronidazole, and demetnidazole are generally selected for treatment. , There are basically no more sensitive drugs than them.

If you are treating bacterial diseases such as Escherichia coli and serositis in ducks, the most sensitive drug classes are not macrolides and pleuromutilins, let alone triazines, polyether ions and nitro Antiparasitic drugs of the imidazole class. But preferably more sensitive to the above-mentioned pathogenic microorganisms of ducks: the broad-spectrum antibiotics of amide alcohols, tetracyclines, cephalosporins, novel penicillins and fluoroquinolones. Or use compound preparations of aminoglycosides, polypeptides, lincosamides and sulfonamides.
