These are the words of Stephan Winkelmann, president and CEO of Lamborghini, who have revealed all the secrets of the new Lamborghini Revuelto, a car with which they aspire to offer a worthy successor to the Aventador, while balancing its history and the regulatory obligations of the European Union.
Playing with plug-in hybridization
In recent days a debate has flown over the motor industry and its fans. Those who defend opening their hand with synthetic fuels, those who are against them and those who assure that the implications of the decision will have a limited run , since future regulations will force the fleet to seriously electrify.
Personally, I think the implications of allowing the use of synthetic fuels will be very close to the latter. It is no coincidence that Germany and Italy, where luxury and premium manufacturers have a high impact on their industry, have been the main drivers of this approval.
Porsche, with a huge fleet of live vehicles, has defended this type of fuel fervently and has invested in a Chilean plant . From Ferrari they also welcome this measure. But, nevertheless, both Porsche and Ferrari will need to heavily electrify their fleet to save emission regulations such as the future Euro 7 . A good example is Lamborghini.

The Lamborghini Revuelto is a rather peculiar plug-in hybrid. It has a V12 6.5 atmospheric main engine. To this propellant three additional electric motors are added. Two of them are located on the front axle (one per wheel) and, in addition to generating power, they are responsible for torque vectoring . This means that a different torque is delivered to each wheel, which allows it to turn more freely and, therefore, improves the dynamic qualities.
In addition, a third electric motor is attached to the gearbox (eight-speed dual-clutch). Together they can move the Lamborghini Revuelto, but not for long. Although no further details have been provided in this regard, its battery has a capacity of just 3.8 kWh . This can be recharged by plugging the car into a 7 kW power socket for half an hour or taking advantage of the car's regenerative braking in just six minutes.
