Dermal Fillers – M Health And Beauty

Dermal fillers are a type of injectable cosmetic treatment that is used to add volume, contour, and smooth out wrinkles or lines in the face. They are made from a variety of materials, including hyaluronic acid, calcium hydroxylapatite, and poly-L-lactic acid, among others.

Dermal fillers are typically injected under the skin to restore lost volume or enhance facial features. They can be used to plump up thin lips, fill in hollows under the eyes, add volume to the cheeks, and smooth out wrinkles and lines around the mouth, nose, and forehead.

The results of dermal fillers are generally temporary, lasting anywhere from six months to two years, depending on the type of filler used and the area of treatment. Side effects may include bruising, swelling, redness, and tenderness at the injection site.

It is important to consult with a qualified and experienced healthcare professional before considering dermal fillers to ensure that the treatment is safe and appropriate for your individual needs and goals.

Dermal Fillers are gel-like substances that are injected beneath the skin. Injectable hyaluronic acid (HA) is a type of temporary Dermal Filler. Hyaluronic acid is found naturally throughout the body, with the highest concentrations in the joints, eyes, and skin. In the skin, hyaluronic acid attracts water, which allows the skin to become more hydrated.

Who is not recommended for Dermal Fillers?

The major contraindications to the use of a filler are as follows:

  • Active infection near the site of injection, a known allergy/hypersensitivity to the material or to the lidocaine mixed in the syringe of the filler (Zyderm, Zyplast, Cosmoderm, Cosmoplast, and certain hyaluronic acid fillers and Artefill) and glabellar skin necrosis with injected Zyplast.
  • No causal relationship has been established between the use of filler and autoimmune diseases like dermatomyositis/polymyositis, lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis, or scleroderma.
  • Individuals under the age of 18 or those that are pregnant or breastfeeding should also avoid dermal fillers.
