A magnetic field, radio wave energy pulses, and a computer system are used in the test known as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to produce images of the organs and bodily structures. An MRI frequently yields results that an X-ray, ultrasound, or CT scan cannot do in many situations.

The body part being examined during a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) examination is placed inside a powerful magnetic field. The MRI can spot alterations to the organs' or other tissues' typical properties or structures. These alterations could be symptoms of illnesses brought on by tumours, infections, inflammation, or trauma. The results of an MRI scan are saved and kept on a computer for a doctor to review later.

To improve the images of certain structures during the MRI scan, a contrast substance may occasionally be employed. The contrast substance may be used to assess blood flow, find certain tumour forms, and identify regions of inflammation.


How Does an MRI Scanner Work?


The characteristics of the tissues in your body are measured by Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) using a variety of magnetic fields and radio waves. The ways that tissues react to these magnetic fields lead to distinct contrasts in an MR pictures. For instance, depending on the kind of tissue, different regions of the brain seem brighter than others in Figure 2 on your right. The MRI is thought to be safer than radiation-based scans since it solely employs magnetic fields and radio waves (e.g. x-rays). ​

Magnetic Resonance Imaging, or MRI, are used. They are used to find potential problems inside your body. MRIs employ computer signals and magnetic components to create detailed images of the interior of your body. It may be performed on any portion of the body and is done to find sickness there. They mostly descend to examine the nervous system and soft tissues. The importance of an MRI must be understood by anybody aspiring to careers as a doctor, radiologist, instructor, or even research assistant. ​
