Silicone Fluids: The Ideal Solution for High-Temperature Applications:

Silicone fluids have excellent thermal stability, making them ideal for high-temperature applications. They can withstand temperatures ranging from -50°C to 200°C, and some formulations can withstand temperatures up to 300°C. As such, they are used in applications such as heat transfer fluids, hydraulic fluids, and lubricants in high-temperature environments. Silicone fluids also have low volatility, which means they do not vaporize or decompose at high temperatures, reducing the need for frequent replacement.

Moreover, silicone fluids are non-reactive, meaning they do not react with other chemicals, making them ideal for use in harsh chemical environments. Overall, silicone fluids offer a reliable and cost-effective solution for high-temperature applications.

Silicones can be used in medical applications to help improve patients’ health owing to their biocompatibility. They are a good choice for lubricants, massage oils, ointments, cosmetics, and filling materials for implants and ant flatulent drugs. Genesee polymers manufactures two emulsions of very high viscosity hydroxyl-terminated silicone fluids. These fluids can be used to make silica more hydrophobic, which is important for rubber and plastic lubricants and release agents. They are also a good choice for making room-temperature cured silicone products more hydrophobic.

Dimethyl silicone fluids (LK-SIL 100T) are clear, low-odor industrial grade polysiloxane. They can be diluted in a wide range of solvents and have excellent oxidation and chemical stability. They are soluble in chlorinated and aromatic hydrocarbon solvents and have limited solubility in alcohols, ethers, and acetone. They start curing on exposure to air and give a solid, non-hazardous film within 72 Hrs of application.
