Choosing the Best Trade Show Booth Location

Being close to competitors

It can be advantageous and disadvantageous to have a booth close to rivals. Either way is possible. When your booth is more extravagant and flashy than theirs, things will go incredibly smoothly. A company whose booth consists of a pop-up display paired with a trestle table and a printed tablecloth over it will be seen as having lower quality and less credibility than your brand and products.

Keeping some distance from your rivals will be a wise move if you believe you won't be able to compete with them. Research competitors who have previously attended events and have a look at their exhibits before committing to a site. Ask show organisers about the businesses that have reserved booths close to your desired position without hesitating.

The entrance is NOT your friend

Every trade fair guest will stroll past a booth that is directly at the entrance, therefore you might obtain the most views from there. But, in this instance, the greater the number of attendees that pass by your booth doesn't necessarily mean that you have a greater probability of striking up a discussion.

The entrance is where most people enter and exit. But they are infamously crowded and disorderly. Attendees may find it uncomfortable to stand at your booth in order to learn more about your good or service because of the volume of traffic in that area. At the entryway, they want to move as quickly as possible to a more peaceful location before they begin looking around.

Leverage big brand names and sponsors

It's like hanging out with the popular kids at school when huge brand names and sponsors are nearby. They also enhance your sense of style. Even though you won't be the coolest kid on the block, you will benefit from the attention and foot traffic that they are attracting to your booth. To increase attention to and visitors to their booth, major sponsors and brand names are also more likely to spend money on pre-show promotion. A portion of these visitors will also "flow" by your booth. In essence, you are using their marketing and brand to your advantage.
