We re just shy of a month away from the premiere of Star Trek Beyond, director Justin Lin s follow-up to Star Trek Into Darkness and the next installment of the celebrated sci-fi saga.

No matter how you feel about rebooted Star Trek franchise, one thing seems certain: When it comes to music, the recent movies aren t afraid of boldly going where past installments have never gone before.

Directed by Lin, the filmmaker responsible for four installments of the Fast & Furious franchise, Star Trek Beyond features much of the core cast of the rebooted Star Trek franchise reprising their roles.

Chris Pine returns as Captain James T. Kirk alongside Zachary Quinto as Spock, Zoe Saldana as Uhura, Karl Urban as Bones McCoy, Simon Pegg as Montgomery Scotty Scott, John Cho as Sulu, and recently deceased actor Anton Yelchin as Chekov in one of his final performances.

Along with all the returning franchise cast members, Star Trek Beyond also features some newcomers, including Luther star Idris Elba in heavy makeup as an alien villain and Kingsman: The Secret Service actress Sofia Boutella as the white-skinned alien getting a lot of attention in the trailer.

The film is based on a script penned by Pegg and Doug Jung Dark Blue, Banshee and arrives in standard and IMAX theaters July 22, 2016.
