Peloton Rowing Machine Review

The Peloton Rowing Machine is the connected fitness brand's latest addition to their at-home fitness equipment line. The rower is currently being teased in a "coming soon" video from Peloton's Homecoming event and looks pretty sleek, evoking the Bike and Tread machines that it already offers.

It offers some standout features, including form assist real-time monitoring and personal pace targets. Plus, it's quieter than most rowing machines and has a 24-inch screen that tilts 25 degrees vertically and 45 degrees horizontally.

Calibrating

Peloton has been making exercise bikes and treadmills for decades, but the company is now offering a rowing machine. Its Peloton Rowing Machine is designed to help you get a rowing workout in the comfort of your own home.

The company says the device measures your body hundreds of times a second to track your form throughout your workouts. This data is then used to give you real-time correction through the form assist feature, which features a digital figure that moves with you as you row.

It is supposed to highlight your body’s kinks and flaws in red so you can correct them before they become an issue. The feature is great for beginners and helps them learn to row properly.

It also has a swiveling screen with on-screen metrics and analytics for your performance. You can access the community leaderboard, track distance, strokes, calories and total output.

Resistance

Rowing is a great full-body workout that works the shoulders, core and legs. It engages over 85% of your muscles in 15 minutes.

There are many different rowing machines available for home use. Some use water tanks or fans, some have electromagnetic drag resistance mechanisms, and others use electronically controlled resistance that allows you to create your own resistance level.

The Peloton Rowing Machine uses a unique electromagnetic resistance mechanism that combines the smooth functioning of a magnetic rower with the variable resistance of an air or water rower. This makes for a near-silent row with minimal noise.

The rower also has sensors that detect your form and give you feedback on areas where you need to improve. This helps you learn to row with proper technique, which can reduce your risk of injury and make the overall experience more enjoyable.

Noise

Many gym-goers avoid rowing machines, and they often have a fear of the noise that they create. This is a shame because rowers are a great way to get an all-in-one workout that targets the quadriceps, hamstrings, glutes, arms, shoulders and core.

Fortunately, there are quiet rowing machines that don't make much noise and won't disturb a neighbor. The Peloton Row is one of them.

The Peloton Row features an electronic resistance system and an ultra-thin, smooth belt. This makes each stroke near-silent and frictionless.

It also has an HD swivel screen that streams thousands of programs and can be stowed vertically for easy storage (though it's not as sturdy as the Hydrow).

You might hear a little knocking sound from the drivetrain at low speeds and during slow recoveries, but this is a normal operational sound that should not prevent you from using your rower. If the noise is too loud, however, it's a good idea to contact Member Support for help.

Screen

The Peloton Rowing Machine features a 24-inch HD swivel screen that allows users to view live classes. It also comes with a leaderboard, which makes it easy to keep track of your performance and see how you stack up against your peers.

It's also fairly storable, thanks to a handle-shaped end that you can heft upright against the wall. That's an important feature for those who don't have a dedicated home gym space to store their machine.

It also includes Form Assist, which helps users with their form. This is based on sensors in the seat and handle, and it works by detecting your movements hundreds of times a second. If your form is off, a little figure in the upper left corner will show up on the screen and tell you which part of your stroke needs to be improved.
