1. Dish soap + water:
It’s one of the best and most cost-effective ways to clean hairspray buildup from your marble top. Dish soap cuts through the grime and grease of the marble top and helps you remove them. A dish soap is a perfect and non-abrasive choice for cleaning marble countertops. It can easily clean any build-ups on the marble surface.

i) Get a gentle dishwashing liquid and put a few drops of it in a spray bottle of warm water.

iv) Once the build-up is gone, rinse the part with clean water.
3. Ammonia:
If you don’t have acetone handy or can’t find one in your nearby hardware shop, you can use an alternative solution – ammonia. It also works fine on marbles and removes any stains from them.

i) Get 1 gallon of hot water and mix ½ cup of ammonia to it.
ii) Clean the affected area of your marble counter with this solution.
iii) Rinse the marble surface with clean water afterwards.
4. Baking soda:
If nothing is handy, you can find a great alternative in your kitchen pantry – baking soda. It works like a charm on your marble counter and acts as a great cleaning product. Regardless of how old the hairspray buildup is, baking soda can work on it.

i) Mix 3 parts of baking soda with 1 part of water and give the mixture a gentle stir.
ii) Once you get a thick paste, spread it evenly over the buildup using a circular motion.
