At VidyaGyan School in Sitapur, the recent arrival of Abhishek Pattnaik, Suketu Shah, and Ahan Nirban from Out of the Box Productions added a vivacious flare to the festive season as the trio conducted an immersive seven-day workshop on "Physical Theatre."
The workshop delved into the realm of "Physical Theatre," emphasizing storytelling predominantly through the body's expressive capabilities. This art form goes beyond verbal expression, utilizing movements, music, and non-verbal cues to convey emotions, atmospheres, and narratives. Students were immersed in this distinctive approach, learning to convey tales using visual and physical elements.
The culmination of the workshop manifested itself in a skit competition, igniting the school premises with excitement. Divided into four houses—Agni, Jal, Prithvi, and Vayu—students presented captivating performances, showcasing their newfound skills. Each skit, originating from the innovative direction of the Out of the Box team, highlighted the individuality and collaborative efforts of the students.
The exuberant performances, marked by meticulous planning and execution, left the audience mesmerized. Agni House emerged as the overall winner, with outstanding individual recognitions showered upon talented actors like Priyanka Kumari, Karan Bisht, Maaz Khan, Neetu Karki, Mansi, and Imtisangla.
Beyond the stage brilliance, the workshop fostered a deeper sense of discipline, teamwork, and creativity among the students. A Q&A session concluded the event, enlightening students on the prospects of acting and theater. The principal, Ms. Swati Shaligram, lauded the students' diligence and performance, honoring the Out of the Box team for their exceptional guidance.
