These are stand-alone machines and not connected to any network. Hence, once sealed there are no chances of making any changes. Before, elections such as the Haryana Assembly Elections 2023, the EVMs are checked, and sent to the polling booths. Post-voting, these EVMs are sealed in the presence of the authorities. Hence, no chance of tampering with the machine.
There has been not a single election in India, whether state or Lok Sabha, that has been completed without the allegations of EVM tampering. To such allegations, ECI has even notified that if any party or authority have doubts, they can randomly check any of the EVMs as per their choice. Hence, based on the available evidence and past records, it can be identified that EVMs are a reliable device to be used during elections.

Report Elections 2019 - The General Elections commission (KPU) to meet President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at the state Palace, Jakarta, Monday (11/11).
