What’s New in the PING G430 MAX 10K?

You may be familiar with the PING G430 MAX, a series of drivers made with optimized, variable-thickness forged TS9+ faces and variable roll radiuses that ensure “spinsistency,” reducing spin while increasing speed to promote longer drives.

But, are you familiar with the PING G430 MAX 10K, the sleek new cousin to the original G430 series? If not, here are a few things you should know.

About the PING G430 MAX 10K

The G430 MAX 10K still offers a lot of what the original G430 does, but it’s been reimagined with a series of traits that further push the envelope of what’s possible through a driver head alone.

First, the name. The 10K in the name is a reference to the club’s feat of engineering: it has eclipsed the 10,000 gm-cm2 combined MOI threshold, not only setting a record, but playing with the very limits of forgiveness. Not to put it lightly by any stretch: this is PING’s most forgiving driver, ever.

The PING G430 MAX 10K is also made with a fixed backweight that lowers the center of gravity, bringing it down and back. This lowers spin and preserves ball speed across the clubface, not only adding distance, but increasing forgiveness.

Another aspect of the club’s enhanced MOI rating is its Carbonfly Wrap, Crow, an ultralight composite crown wrapped into the heel and toe sections of the club. This reduces weight, and those weight savings are utilized to further lower the center of gravity while reducing spin, increasing speed, and boosting forgiveness even more.

Like the original G430 MAX, the new G430 MAX 10K is made with a forged TS9+ face (although in the 10K, the face is thinner) which enables more flexing and optimal energy transfer, delivering higher ball speeds.

Also like the original, these clubs are designed with a variable roll radius that engenders “spinsistency,” optimizing and lowering spin across the entire face for greater consistency and forgiveness across swings.

The G430 MAX 10K is also engineered with a large profile; it’s within the 460cc limit, but it’s aesthetically pleasing and also makes it easier to square up shots.

As with its predecessors, the G430 MAX is optimized with adjustable loft and lie, and is engineered to deliver unparalleled acoustic feedback, to preserve the overall experience of the swing.

The G430 MAX 10K is also available in an “HL” or “high launch” configuration that is better optimized to meet the needs of golfers with slower swing speeds. In testing, it delivered an average of nine more yards from the tee for players with slower swings.

Explore Golf Club Shafts for Sale, Pair It with the Right One

Another great thing about the PING G430 MAX 10K is that it is compatible with a wide range of golf club shafts for sale, including PING-engineered shafts like the PING Alta CB Black and Tour 2.0 Chrome and Black shafts.

With that said, finding the right shaft for a new PING G430 MAX 10K is no matter to take lightly. As engineered and refined as this clubhead is, pairing it with the right shaft is critical to securing that performance.

If you have any questions before buying this club or a shaft to pair with it, work with a golf club fitter in your area - they’ll have you choose the ideal combo for your play style and personal needs.
