New Dimensions: A Radio Program that Speaks Intimately to the Human Heart and Mind

For more than five decades the New Dimensions’ Radio program series has created an exceptional forum for conversations that foster a welcoming and authentic environment. It consistently inspires individuals to bring forth their best selves. It sows the seeds of encouragement, competence, and psychological flexibility so that listeners can meet the challenges of the 21st-century. The penetrating purpose of these deep dialogues is to awaken the unique talents and gifts in listeners and encourage them to contribute their creative genius to their community, family, and their own circle of influence. New Dimensions encourages conversations that truly matter.

For the past 50 years, New Dimensions Radio has presented diverse, award-winning deep dialogues with trustworthy thought leaders. New Dimensions Radio delivers life-affirming, socially and spiritually relevant information, practical knowledge, and perennial wisdom through the voices and visions of those who are asking new questions and are looking at the world in positive and inspiring ways.

Guests concur that these hour-long deep dialogues are like none other. It covers a wide range of relevant topics including science, health, death & dying, ecology, psychology, indigenous wisdom, parapsychology, philosophy arts and creativity, spirituality, and more.

New Dimensions has been a beacon of hope for those seeking to understand the true meaning of human existence and live in harmony with the world around them. Founded by Justine and Michael Toms in the 1970s, this organization has been tirelessly working towards creating a better world for all.

As journalist Bill Moyers has said of New Dimensions: “In this day of fortune-cookie philosophies and bumper-sticker politics, it is refreshing to find a sanctuary for sustained conversation where two people truly communicate, with a large audience leaning across the electronic sofa eavesdropping. New Dimensions is a safe haven for that kind of sharing.”

Since its inception in January 1975, New Dimensions has been dedicated to exploring the most pressing issues of our time. From its very first four-hour live program on KQED-FM to its participatory events such as Kauai Tomorrow, New Dimensions has been committed to shaping a better future for all. With notable productions such as The 50-Year Experiment: Buckminster Fuller and Sounds of the Buddha Dharma, New Dimensions has been at the forefront of community consciousness and cultural evolution.

For its selfless services, New Dimensions Radio has been bestowed with various awards and recognition for its outstanding service to community radio. Their constant effort and dedication have not gone unnoticed.

One of their notable achievements is receiving the Programming Excellence Award from the National Federation of Community Broadcasters in 1993. This award is a testament to their continued excellence in programming and unwavering commitment to the community.

Furthermore, in 1998, Michael Toms and Justine Willis Toms, together with New Dimensions Radio, were presented with an award from the Institute of Noetic Sciences for their outstanding vision and service in exploring the frontiers of consciousness. In 2001, their program The Power of Nonviolence: Compassion in Action received the Finalist Certificate from the New York International Festival of Radio.

New Dimensions produced three 13-part half-hour series: Bioneers I, Bioneers II, Bioneers III.   Bioneers II was recognized with the Bronze World Medal at the New York International Festival of Radio, while Bioneers III received the Silver World Medal.

The late Michael Toms and his wife, Justine Willis Toms, were recognized for their contributions to society and received the 2003 Golden Works Award from Religious Science International. In 2009, they were conferred with an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters from the Institute for Transpersonal Psychology (now known as Sofia University).

It is also noteworthy that in 2011, Michael Toms and Justine Willis Toms were inducted into the Broadcasters Hall of Fame. Let us celebrate their achievements and continue to be inspired by their legacy.

It is a great privilege to be recognized for one's hard work and contribution to the community, and New Dimensions Radio truly deserves all the accolades it has received.
