Being Grateful

The purpose of an individual’s life consists of the central motivating aims of their life- the reasons why they get up every morning. If you seek so desperately the purpose of your life and end up finding it, then you are fortunate. It can guide life decisions, affect positive behavior, shape goals, offer you different paths, and give meaning to your existence. Your purpose in life can be either focused on the individual level or can be focused on your contribution to the world.


Having a purpose is one of the fundamental factors of happiness. It is as challenging as it sounds. Without it, you will not be as focused and you might not be aligned with what you do-it can cause restlessness. People don’t just wake up and have a “eureka” moment and then know why they exist. Then, if you’ve found that purpose, be grateful. Be grateful for the life you have and the life that you keep on living.


Still, the questions exist, what is your purpose in life? How can you have multiple purposes in life?” It is quite engaging for people. Most of them are unaware of this fact and that we can have more than one reason to exist in this universe. For some, it might be providing for their family, living a successful life, making positive connections, or living in the present, etc. while for others it can be leaving a positive impact on others.


You can have more than one purpose in life by developing a growth mindset, helping others, cultivating gratitude, and being generous. The most important thing for attainment or just the process of understanding gratitude is turning your pain into purpose. You should explore your passions and interests; you might keep them as a hobby. You should be grateful for this exploration and understand true passion is in the gift of exploration. It is a gift that you have the privilege to find yourself and be a better version.

Being part of a community can help you when you are seeking the purpose of your existence; moreover, you can spend time with people who inspire you; discover through them. Not only through others but you can find it through yourself. You should practice self-care and be used to self-acceptance.


Having to know the purpose of life is not the same as fulfilling your life. Fulfilling your life might make you sacrifice important aspects of life such as spending time with your loved ones, finding a loving partner, going on vacations, etc. Finding your purpose of existence and connecting that to meaningful work can be hard but with supportive guidance, you can sort it out. After all is said and done, understand that your purpose in life goes hand in hand with being grateful. Be grateful and humble about your situation.
