Intel is selling a majority stake of their security in McAfee to the investment firm TPG.

Thus, the McAfee once again an independent company.

After the deal, TPG will own 51 percent of the shares in the new McAfee, while Intel remains the owner of the remaining part.

For this percentage may Intel 3.1 billion dollars in cash – they bought McAfee for a total of 7.7 billion in 2011.

Intel is the most known as the processor manufacturer, but when they acquired McAfee, they wanted to improve the security around their products.
