Dutch Tomtom will start supplying mapping and traffic data for Volvo trucks in Europe.

The new agreement means that Tomtom should pay for the services in the new infotainment platform that Volvo trucks will begin to use in 2017.

In practice, this means that the vehicles will be equipped with a customized version of the Tomtom software Navkit, which, for example, gives drivers access to a mapping system with real-time updates on the traffic situation.

the Tomtom system is then used in the past including Audi, and Porsche.

In the summer also came the news that the Dutch navigationsföretaget concluded an agreement with Volvo Cars, which should start Navkit software in their cars from 2019.
