A Man was Arrested for Using Jammer on the Subway

A crotchety Chicago man, who became a notorious commuter for riding the train with a cell phone jammer and a six-bottle beer now faces felony accusations using signal blocking devices to get some peace on the way home.

Dennis Nicholl, 63, faces a felony using a jamming device on a CTA red line in Chicago, Illinois, to interrupt cell phone calls.

His lawyer Charles Lauer told the Chicago Tribune he was arrested Tuesday for using a cell phone jammer on the subway.

The 63-year-old who is financial planner at the University of Illinois Hospital and the Health Sciences system has been widely known to passengers on the Chicago Red Line, noting that their phones would fall on the large antenna equipment on the Nikol knee.

Some passengers also noticed that there were six packs of old-fashioned beer on his feet, as shown on photos circulated for several months online.

Nicholl was finally busted, the undercover officer established a sting operation, and deployed an undercover police officer to commute with him.

The unidentified policeman called and when Nicholl opened his gsm jammer, he shoved him in the next stop.

According to the police report, Nicholl acknowledged that the police said he was "annoyed" at people talking on their cell phone while in Chicago's public transport system.
