To push equality boundaries within the creative industry, The Drum Creative Awards has introduced the creative women of the year category, in sponsorship with Facebook and partnership with Creative Equals.

The category was launched to promote diversity within our industry and attracted more than 20 entries in its first year, with 10 creative women, shortlisted by our judging panel.

The nominees are: Alice Tonge, executive creative director/head of 4creative at 4creative; Becky McOwen-Banks, European director of communications at MISS; Caroline Pay and Vicki Maguire, awards assistants at Grey London; Charlotte Adorjan, creative director at AMVBBDO; Lizi Hamer, creative director at Octagon; Margaret Johnson.

Awards manager at Goodby Silverstein and Partners; Shahnaz Ahmed, senior designer at Livity / Knit Aid; Thea Hamrén, creative director at Mr President; Resh Sidhu, creative director at Framework.

All nominees will be invited to the awards and bring a guest with them, who must be a junior female rising star in the industry.

The idea is to promote creative gender equality across different levels of businesses.
