A lot of companies will tell you that smart homes are the future, and it seems Elgato believes the same thing.

Today, Elgato announced that it will rebrand to Eve Systems, which shares the name of the company’s smart home product line up.

It seems that Eve, which was introduced back in 2014, has been a successful endeavor for Elgato, because it will now shift its focus entirely to IoT and smart home devices.

So, with that announcement in the books, what happens to Elgato’s gaming business?

At least a few of us probably recognize Elgato as the maker of devices like capture cards and last year’s Stream Deck, and the company seems to have found success with its gaming initiatives as well.
