1.Economics

It is a research-oriented career and would require you to learn and make use of various theories, models and principles. Economists conduct researches and analyze data to predict market trends, build economic theories and models.

 The field has an extremely positive future, In India, as there is a huge demand of qualified economists in consulting firms, private banks as well as public sectors.

If you want to make a career in this field, you have to pursue a bachelor’s – B.A/B.Sc. (H) Economics a major in Economics, or Bachelor of Business Economics following which you can pursue a Master’s in Economics.

 

2.Management

Management

 

Management is the process of coordination, planning, forecasting and organizing a company’s processes, to effective functioning and growth. It is another one of the popular career routes, with a relatively reliable career progression. It is a broad field that allows you the opportunity to select from different roles and specializations, including operations, HR, marketing, finance, international business, sales, etc.

Management one of the versatile degree, you can find various national and global opportunities in this  domains such as consulting, general management, sales, human resources, marketing, strategy, operations management, finance, supply chain management, etc. in various industries and sectors, such as FMCG, Retail, Education, Telecom, etc.

To go into this domain of management, you have to pursue a graduation in any field (preferably BBA/BMS), followed by an MBA.

 

3.Commerce

First, you have to pursue a B.Com or B.Com (Hons.) degree at the UG level, and after that M.Com, MBA or a certification course, such as CA, CS, CMA, etc., depending upon the field.

The path to be followed for pursuing CA

First, register yourself with the ICAI, and clear the Competency Professional Test (CPT).

Clear the Integrated Professional Competence (IPC) Course Exam in one or both groups.

Undergo article ship for 3 years under a practicing C.A or a C.A firm.

After or during the completion of your article ship, clear the C.A Final to gain your C.A certification.

 

Company Secretary is a professional course administered by ICSI. The Company Secretary takes care of the efficient administration of a company, governance-related issues such as ensuring that the decisions of the board of directors are implemented. particularly for ensuring legal and statutory compliance. Their job involves giving advice on conducting business, dealing with situations involving the conflict of interest, developing corporate strategy, suggesting ways to prepare financial reports, assisting in planning, and advising on company law.

If you want to pursue CS. There are three stages in the CS Course Foundation Program, Executive Program, and Professional Program. After passing the First executive program, you have to undergo 15 months of practical training. On completion of the training, you will join as an Associate Member of the ICSI and will be given the designation of Associate Company Secretary (ACS). You can work with both the public and the private sector.

 

4.Finance

The career in the finance domain involves helping individuals in making various financial planning decisions, monitoring cash flow, managing assets and liabilities, raising capital for expansion. A common set of skills required across finance careers include a good grasp of economics and a knack for numbers and data, accounting concepts, and analytical thinking.

This is a broad sector and can include various roles, such as Investment Banking, Financial Analyst, Financial Planning/Consulting, Corporate Finance, Wealth Management, Private Equity, and Venture Capital, Risk Management, etc.
