Lenovo has announced a wide range of new tablets and hybrid hardware, all running either Android or Windows 8.1.Follow the links below for a detailed overview of Lenovo’s latest device announcements, all of which fall into its Yoga range of versatile hardware. The standout feature of Lenovo’s Yoga Ultrabooks has always been the clever hinge, which allows the screen to be folded over to create a tent-like stand, rotated around to keep the keyboard out of the way, or laid flat for a tablet-like experience. For the Yoga 3 Pro, Lenovo has redesigned the hinge, likening it to a metal watch band, and building it from 800 pieces of steel and aluminum.Storage is managed by a 256GB SSD, plus there is a 4-in-1 card reader on the 12.8mm chassis. It’s joined by two USB 3.0 sockets, and a Micro HDMI port.
The 2in1 tablet Chuwi Hi12 is one of the best options among the Cherry Trail tablets especially thanks to the excellent 2160 1440 pixel resolution screen and the useful, but rare 3:2 aspect ratio. But until today one of the lacking features has been the stylus support, well not anymore because the Chuwi HiPen H1 just launched in order to fix that.Chuwi HiPen H1 is an active stylus designed specifically for the use with the Hi12 tablet and on paper it looks really good.Featuring 256 pressure levels software adjusted even 512 levels , aluminum metal body with 1.2mm/1.6mm writing tips, under 2mm precision limit, 30-degree writing angle support and palm supression control technology just does the trick. The pen has two buttons capable of mimicking the mouse buttons and being powered by the dry AAAA battery it can be used for up to 250 hours. The auto sleep function helps to preserve some power so the battery exchange won t be a common occurence.Chuwi HiPen H1 is a pretty handy addition to the Hi12 tablet accessory family and with the official retail price of $29.99 it s also nothing crazy expensive and out of the reach. So for those looking to use the great 12-inch tablet screen fully with some active stylus then this is the way to go.You can get it for example here for even a dollar cheaper.
Lian Li has built its brand on the promise of quality, its name synonymous with aluminum building materials and a premium price point. The Ebonsteel Series is being introduced with three cases: the PC-K5, PC-K6 and PC-K6S, all of which are mid-tower designs that are said to offer competitive air and liquid cooling support, convenient build features and support for full ATX boards. The PC-K5 features two removable drive cages that accommodate video cards of up to 250mm in length when installed or cards up to 400mm in length when removed, seven expansion slots, a 250mm long power supply and a CPU cooler up to 160mm in height. There are two 120mm intake fans on the front panel, a 120mm rear exhaust fan, HD audio jacks, a USB 3.0 port, two USB 2.0 ports, power and reset buttons plus LED indicators at the top and openings for two additional 120mm fans or a radiator. The front bezel hides two 120mm intake fans that draw in air from vents on the side of the bezel. On the bottom are four rubber feet and a removable dust filter positioned under the PSU mounting area.

Casemaker Lian Li has introduced an upcoming line of steel-based mid tower cases aimed at system builders on a budget seeking value.Although they branch away from the company s typical aluminum-based focus, they still offer Lian Li trademarks including vibration-dampened PSU mounts, drive cages, removable mesh filters on fan mounts, and so on.But Lian Li said on Tuesday that the PC-K5 will support ATX or mATX motherboards and provide two hard-drive cages that store up to a maximum of four 3.5-inch drives or four 2.5-inch drives. As for other features, the upcoming PC-K5 will include two 5.25-inch bays, one USB 3.0 port, two USB 2.0 ports, and HD audio inputs on the top panel.System builders will even be able to add two additional 120mm fans, but if water cooling is your thing, then a radiator measuring 120mm x 240mm x 60mm can be installed on the top fan mount. The company said it borrows from its J-series line of cases that cover the drives and power supply with steel panels so that the motherboard and expansion cards are the focus of attention.
The GO wheelchair not to be confused with the HU-GO, another 3D-printed wheelchair project is the brainchild of Benjamin Hubert, director of London design agency Layer. For instance, someone with a spinal injury midway up the back might require more support and a taller seat-back, while someone who has lost a leg might want things to be adjusted to take her off-center balance into account.Only the seat printed on a large-format device — it won t come out of a desktop printer and footrest sintered aluminum for durability are custom-designed; the rest is constructed of off-the-shelf parts, to keep the costs down and repairs simple. The company has been in dialogue with wheelchair users and designed things with their feedback; the GO isn t quite ready for wheelchair basketball those chairs are tanks in their own right, said Hubert , but players were consulted anyway.Right now the GO is still in prototype form, and will be on display at Clerkenwell s Design Week later this month.Hubert said that the design is mostly finalized, but now faces scrutiny from the National Health Services and the European counterparts to the FDA.
The CEO of Catcher Technology, a major Apple supplier, has seemingly confirmed a big iPhone rumor. The current word on the street is that the iPhone 7, expected this fall, is going to be fairly boring.Instead, the next exciting iPhone will come out in 2017, and it could have several new features, like wireless charging, an edge-to-edge screen, and better camera all wrapped up in a glass body.Catcher Technology makes some of the aluminum shells for the iPhone 6.So its CEO, Allen Horng, might have inside information on Apple's chassis plans. And on Thursday, he said: "As far as I know, only one iPhone model will adopt glass casing next year," after Catcher's annual shareholder meeting, Nikkei reports. He continued: "I don't think this move will have an impact on Catcher's revenue, as glass casing still needs a durable metal frame, which requires advanced processing technology and would not be cheaper than the current model. Before the iPhone 6 came out, with its Catcher-supplied case, company revenues ballooned.Apple blog Patently Apple speculates that Horng's comment means that Apple might come out with a "special anniversary" or "pro model."And reliable Apple analyst Ming Chi-Kuo, who has sources in the Apple supply chain, has tipped the possibility of a new "Pro" tier of iPhone recently.Apple's iPhone has followed a "tick-tock" cycle in recent years. In one year, it gets a new design, and in the other, Apple upgrades its internals.A growing amount of evidence points to Apple planning to change to that cycle in 2017.NOW WATCH: Apple just invested $1 billion in this Chinese companyLoading video...
It was only a few months ago that we slapped a five-star rating on the Asus ZenBook UX305 and now the company is back with the Asus ZenBook UX306.Well, the most immediately noticeable changes are the addition of a USB Type-C port and backlit keys, but you can expect beefier specs too, as under the hood you're looking at an Intel Core i5 6200U or Core i7 6500U processor and up to 16GB of RAM, which will hopefully be enough to address our concerns about the graphics capabilities of the UX305.The ZenBook UX306 is launching with a choice of 256GB or 512GB of solid state storage and has a 13.3-inch anti-glare screen in either 1080 x 1920 or 3200 x 1800 resolution, which is largely in line with the UX305.Familiar good looksThe stylish aluminum build looks largely similar and at 324 x 226 x 13.9mm and 1.19kg the dimensions and weight aren't much changed either.Other features include a full USB 3.0 port for all those accessories that aren't USB-C-ready , 802.11ac Wi-Fi and the promise of up to 12 hours of battery life, plus the company's IceCool technology built in, to prevent the palm rest heating up.The big remaining questions are what it will cost and when you'll actually be able to buy it, but sadly Asus hasn't answered either of them yet.

When the first Apple stores opened in 2001, people stood in round-the-block lines to be the first inside, and the first to experience Apple s iconic design language given form and space—an iPod reproduced in bricks and mortar. The company is trying to give the impression that these are not just places to hand over money in exchange for pieces of beautifully designed pieces of glass and aluminum, but spaces to come and hang out.The sparkly, reflective, terrazzo floors bounce natural light around the store, which should keep the indoor trees happy, and cut electricity usage. They can be heated, like a fancy bathroom, or chilled, which the company thinks is going to be the more frequent scenario.Apple s iconic Geniuses who had to deal with 1 million appointments in San Francisco alone last year will be supplemented with new Creative Pros, who ll give demonstrations of more things we can spend our money on, from camera lenses to drones to music downloads.Alongside the grove is the Avenue where new accessories are on display; the Forum, where a giant video wall will facilitate everything from game night to workshops with invited creative types; and the Boardroom, where small business, start-ups, and app developers can share wisdom.
Image: APWorksThe word Airbus probably brings to mind an image of a hefty airplane that flies you around the world. But this time around, Airbus has made a decidedly different kind of vehicle: a 3D printed motorcycle that looks like something straight out of Alien.Called Light Rider—man, David Hasselhoff is probably pissed—the vehicle was created by Airbus subsidiary APWorks. It weighs in at just 77 pounds and is powered by a six kilowatt electric engine that helps it go from zero to 50 miles per hour in a few seconds. And if it looks a little web-like, that s intentional:The frame itself was made using a selective 3D laser printing system that melted minuscule aluminum alloy particles together. The end product was a series of parts made up of a lot of extremely thin—as in 60 microns thin—layers.
View photosMoreThe CEO of Airbus, Tom Enders, left, and the head of APWorks, Joachim Zettler, present the first 3D printed electric motorcycle in Ottobrunn, Germany, Friday May 20, 2016.An electric motorcycle made from tiny aluminum alloy particles using a 3D printer.European aeronautics giant Airbus unveiled the 'Light Rider ' in Germany on Friday. The frame weighs just 13 pounds, about 30 percent less than conventional e-motorbikes.APWorks chief executive Joachim Zettler said the complex, branched hollow structure wouldn't have been possible with conventional production technologies such as milling or welding. The company is taking orders for a limited run of 50 motorbikes, costing 50,000 euros $56,095 , plus tax, each.
It has a certain Portland, Oregon, quality I don't love. But the Spicy Curry — an electric pedal-assist cargo bike and the creation of a small California company called Yuba — is an excellent thing with excellent potential. What's a cargo bike?Basically, it's the bicycle equivalent of a pickup truck. It's a surprisingly utilitarian creation that provides an alternative, though not a replacement, for a car.An aluminum frame behind the seat allows for a variety of attachments: A wide bed for groceries or equipment, two child seats, saddlebags, or anything else you can tie to it.The Spicy Curry is also an e-bike.A battery and generous pedal-assist motor provide extra boost to whatever power the rider is already producing. There are four torque settings to dial in your preferred level of, well, spiciness. The battery will recharge fully in four to six hours, and it provides a range of up to 45 miles, depending on load, road conditions, and the torque setting.Benjamin Sarrazin, Yuba's CEO and founder, told Business Insider the name is a play on the company's partnership with motor manufacturer Currie Technologies.Yuba makes a variety of cargo bikes, some with electric motors and some without. The Spicy Curry is its top-of-the-range model and costs $4,200.That may sound like a lot for a bicycle, but if the Spicy Curry is used to its full potential — as a daily errand runner — there's an argument for spending that much dough for something that's well built, comfortable, and very, very versatile. And the Yuba Spicy Curry is all of those things.
There are many factors to consider here, but the primary ones are storage space, speed, portability, and reliability. The fastest, lightest external that money can buy – Samsung T3 $750 Digital TrendsIt s hard to believe this little drive, which easily fits in the palm of your hand, fits 2TB of data. This is particularly true if you work with a a good deal of video or other large files and want to edit directly on the external drive. The speeds aren t going to rival that of a solid state drive, but our benchmarks show it can compete with any mechanical external on the market despite its extremely portable footprint. The case is currently available in either silver or gold and is primarily made of plastic, with an aluminum top that features dimples for an added touch of class.Buy one now from:Affordable and portable – Western Digital My Passport Ultra $50 Western DigitalThis Western Digital Drive isn t the lightest on the market, but it does come with a three-year warranty, WD s reputation for reliability, and a 4.5-star rating on Amazon.
Apparently, when it comes to perceived value, consumers aren t as swayed by specs like a quad-core processor, SSD, or graphics as much as they are by a device s color. This embedded DRAM functions as a cache that helps overall graphics performance. While the silver version of the XPS 13 comes with different configuration options, the Gold Edition is limited to a fixed configuration and price.Handbrake performanceOur first test involves encoding a 30GB MKV file into a smaller MP4 using the Android Tablet preset in Handbrake. The results put the XPS 13 pretty much dead even with the Core i7 versions of the Microsoft Surface Book and Razer Blade Stealth. However, the Surface Book with its GeForce graphics which we believe to be a GeForce GT 940 chip is top dog.

Be yours for just under half a million crowns. A finlemmadd, bicycle-like electric small matter of 35 kilos that is held together by a complex web of aluminum, according to The Verge. Or, in fact, it is not without any aluminum Apworks call Scalmalloy which is a self alluminumpulver designed to be nearly as strong as titanium. The battery that drives the whole thing is then interchangeable and one charge is enough for a journey of 60 kilometers. But the issue of no mass production, it is certainly not for a while yet. The company will initially manufacture only 50 motorcycles and price lands at about 500 000.
Light Rider from AP Works sold in a limited edition of 50 copies for 50,000 euros each. Photographer: AP Works Airbus company AP Works begin selling an electric motorbike that is printed from a 3D printer and weighing only 35 kg. By building up the framework of the thousands of layers of powdered metal, each only 30 micrometers thick, AP Works to build a structure optimized for strength and low weight. It had not been possible with conventional manufacturing techniques, argue AP Works. They have used an aluminum alloy called Scalmalloy, commonly used in the aerospace industry. The motorcycle is powered by an electric motor with power 6 kW, and torque is 130 Nm.
There are cheaper drives with the same amount of storage, but Seagate is hoping the drive s form factor and design will help make up the difference.Slim and sturdyAre we allowed to call a hard drive cute? The metal plate on top, available in silver and gold color aluminum, is covered in an alternating series of indented bubbles. All told this hard drive is likely smaller than your phone, and at 4.8 ounces it probably weighs a little less too.Over USB 2.0 this drive offers a read speed of 41.1MBps, and a write speed of 42.8MBps.A solid little drive with good performanceIf you want a physically small external drive that s big on space, and at a competitive price point, you could do worse than Seagate s Ultra Slim.
