8K TV sales numbers have doubled compared to 2019 and are set to have a similar rate of growth in 2021 – but is that the full picture?
Fincher and Pitt have worked together on three projects, including, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Fight Club, and Se7en.He won the MTV Video Music Award for Best Direction for directing the music videos, including “Vogue” and Madonna’s “Express Yourself.”Fincher is best known for his projects like The Game, Fight Club, Seven, the biographical drama The Social Network, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and Zodiac.Fincher won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series for the show House of Cards. The award-winning director is known for his reputation for detail and precision. His work sometimes feels tedious, but Fincher believes it is essential for camera operators and actors to hit the same mark for the continuity of the post-production scene. And Fincher got all tense up, so much so that he even physically hurt himself. The Oscar winner is very passionate about his work, and he uses his directorial mind while watching films with his friends.
Often described as his most passionate and ambitious film, David Fincher’s Mank is all set to enter the nominations race for the Best Director category at 2021 Oscars.Already a recipient of two Oscar nominations, David Fincher’s passionate film “Mank” would win him his third nomination, and this time around, it could potentially be the one that will get him his due recognition.“Mank” has already been unveiled by Netflix to film critics, and most of them consider the film to be a contender for next year’s Academy Awards.Should it happen, David Fincher would mark a return to the category almost a decade later (his last nomination win was for The Social Network).Fans’ agony would only increase if he does not win it this time, but it is what it is.They would be happy to know, though, that a nomination is almost certain.Even if we are only considering the cinematography, “Mank” does not disappoint, and comparisons to the brilliance of Gravity and Mad Max: Fury Road are already being made. It’s a cinema’s loss that a film like “Mank” will not make its way to the big theaters, but the story of Herman J. Mankiewicz’s efforts to develop Orson Welles’ Citizen Kane is an epitome of artistic achievement and in other words, a lesson to the aspiring filmmakers.A film that transcends pop culture and defies all contemporary notions is, at its core, a piece of art that stays true to 1940s America, and if looked closely, it is just like any other historical film told in a modern world.
Netflix's true crime drama Mindhunter doesn't sound like it's returning for another season.
Netflix David Fincher’s new movie Mank comes out in just over a month, but if you want a sneak peek at the film, Netflix has a put out a (not so) ”secret” website showcasing its soundtrack and behind-the-scenes stills. The soundtrack comes from Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, who have created a score with an old-school Hollywood vibe — a big leap from the haunting digital style they’re best known for. From the teaser, you can already hear how Reznor and Ross find ways to impart themes and motifs we know them for into a genre of music that is anything but their usual fare. Alongside a nearly 11-minute sampling of the score, which plays in the background on the site, you can see over 200 photos, stills, and clips from the movie and on-set... Continue reading…
