One of the most dangerous parts of skiing or snowboarding while listening to your favorite tunes is the fact that you have absolutely no chance of hearing the outside world when you’re flying down the slopes.
It’s important to be able to hear other people around you, lest you be pounded into the snow by a careening teen.
That’s where Bone Tech’s new IceBrkr goggles come in handy.
Aesthetically, they look like a fairly standard pair of ski googles, but they’ve got a pretty cool trick up their sleeve: Bone conduction tech, which allows them to use the vibration of your skull to play your favorite songs.
To do it, the googles — claimed by the company to be the first-ever ski goggles with bone conduction integration — use patented bendable arms that provide constant contact between audio transducers and your the outside of your ears.
Because there is nothing actually obstructing your ear canal — and because the sound is coming from inside of your skull, you can hear the sounds of the world around you even when your jamming out on the slopes.
One of the more interesting news tidbits from yesterday’s Unpacked event got a bit drowned out in all of the noise.
Understandably so — Samsung jammed a lot into an event that ran just over an hour, virtually sprinting through a handful of gaming announcements.
The below video is the best demonstration we have of PlayGalaxy Link, a new feature that makes it possible to stream games directly from a PC to the Galaxy Note 10.
Why the company didn’t make a bigger deal of the feature is beyond me, but in an area when Apple and Google are really starting to get involved in gaming in earnest, Samsung really ought to have shone a bigger like light on the new offering.
From the sound of it, the feature will offer similarly to one that Microsoft has been working on for the Xbox, letting users stream games from their PC onto the mobile device, whether or not they’re on a shared WiFi.
The video showcases the connection, as a user links a Samsung Odyssey gaming laptop to a Note nestled inside a gamepad controller.
One of the cars that was pivotal for Bentley in its early days was the 1939 Bentley Corniche.
The car was a departure from the traditional Bentley cars of the ’20s and ’30s and was the first to introduce streamlining in an attempt to reach faster speeds and improve the performance of the car.
The styling of this historic car influenced the styling of all post-war Bentley models from the R Type Continental to the current Continental GT.
The 1939 Bentley Corniche was introduced in 1939 and was meant to be a higher-performance version of the then-new MkV saloon set to launch in 1939.
During its testing, the car was involved in a serious traffic accident in France in August of 1939.
It was sent to Bentley for repairs, and the original car was lost in France in 1939 at the outbreak of WWII.
