PM Modi May Extend COVID-19 Lockdown For Few More Weeks As Per Suggestions Given By MinistersAfter a high level meeting was held with the Group of Ministers (GoM), officials may extend coronavirus lockdown for 2 weeks, until the end of April.
Further, religious centres,shopping malls and educational institutions may be closed until May 15, 2020.In a meeting held on Tuesday with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a group of ministers have recommended that owing to the current siuation of COVID19 outbreak, all educational institutions, religious activities, public participation should not be allowed until May 15, 2020.
The team suggested that this move needs to be taken irrespective of the decision of extending the current 21-day lockdown period.

In a related point, when asked on the purported overtures of the Imran Khan government to offer talks with India and the Indian government giving the former the cold shoulder, the PM did not mince his words when he exhorted Pakistan to show through action and move beyond words.
PM Modi spoke of how in his congratulatory conversation with Imran Khan had reminded the latter that Pakistan had repeatedly failed, both through wars and terror, to upset the Indian development journey and the country had remained the fastest growing major economy in the world.
On being probed on the accusation that the opposition parties had made about his using the A-Sat test for political mileage, the PM had asked the opposition in return whether they thought that governance could be held hostage to model code of conduct (MCC).
Particularly on A-Sat, he explained that it was not a sudden announcement at all.
