Democratic Rep. Ted Lieu of California slammed Walmart for its decision to limit advertisements for video games following two shootings at its stores in recent weeks.

"You disrespect the victims of mass shootings by making up stupid s---," Lieu said in a tweet.

Republican lawmakers and commentators, including President Donald Trump, have widely suggested mental health and video games were to blame for mass shootings.

"Dear [Walmart], remember how: Mario Kart caused people to drive faster?

Fortnite radicalized a white supremacist to shoot Hispanics at your store," Lieu tweeted on Friday afternoon.

The tweet follows the release of an internal memo in which the company ordered its employees to immediately "remove signing and displays reference violence" in all of its departments.

If you’ve had it up to here with political posts and discussions on social platforms, you are not alone, according to Pew Research Center.

A recent Pew survey of U.S. adults found that 46% of social media users feel “worn out” by the number of political posts and discussions they encounter on social networks, up nine percentage points from the last time Pew asked the same question, during the summer of 2016.

Meanwhile, 15 percent of respondents like seeing political posts on social media, while 38% didn’t feel strongly one way or the other.

Pew senior researcher Monica Anderson and computational social scientist Dennis Quinn wrote in a blog post, “Well over a year before the 2020 presidential election, many social media users in the U.S. are already exhausted by how much political content they see on these platforms.”

The research group also broke out its findings by race and political affiliation.

Pew found that 52% of white social media users said they were worn out by political posts, while just 36% of nonwhites expressed the same sentiment.

After Twitter temporarily locked the campaign account of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, a string of leading Republican campaign committees announced an ad spending boycott against the social media platform.

McConnell's official campaign account was locked Wednesday after his team posted a video of protesters outside his Louisville, Kentucky, home earlier this week.

Twitter's blanket policy bans videos that include violent threats, even from those who receive such threats.

The video in question, which also aired on Fox News, featured protest chants calling McConnell "murder turtle," and shouts from the crowd inciting violence against him.

Twitter told CNET in a statement that McConnell's campaign account was locked because the video "violated our violent threats policy, specifically threats involving physical safety."

Even the Republican Party, more commonly referred to as the Republican Party and also the G.O.P., is one of two primary contemporary political parties in the developed world, with its slightly older rival of the Democratic Party Neal Kwatra.

At the beginning of World War II, when the Fascistic and Nationalistic tendencies started to gain ground, the Republicans were the only party that was willing to stand up for what was appropriate, and to fight for what was only.

During the war , the Republicans didn't take up arms, but they were not the only party that stood against Hitler and the Nazi regime, since no other political party, either left or right, was prepared to do so.Now, the Republican Party is the party of freedom and liberty.

As long as they are honest, industrious people, and also do what is expected of them, they will give rise to our culture, and make our country more powerful, much greater than any amount of good that they can bring as a result of being born in a different country.

And so long as they follow the laws of our country, and think the Constitution guarantees their rights, they have nothing to worry about, and they can live in a free property, enjoying all the freedoms the rest of us appreciate.The Republican Party believes in freedom, individual liberty, and constitutional government, limited government, and human rights.

A few of those rights are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

ESPN, which had been planning to air an Apex Legends tournament as part of the X Games, decided to delay the program until after the X Games tie-in.

Meanwhile, Walmart, which had been the site of the El Paso shooting, decided to remove advertising for “violent video games” — despite, absurdly, continuing to sell the guns used in the shootings.

The latter illustrates the core issue facing the video game industry: It’s too cowardly to actually speak the truth about why it’s being targeted, thus Walmart (and ESPN, or its corporate parents Disney/ABC) felt like they would face absolutely zero consequences for scapegoating games.

The video game industry will continue to fail in the political arena as long as it is terrified to say the truth that it is deliberately being targeted by Republican politicians as a distraction for their failed gun policies and complicity in hate crimes.

Perhaps the most frustrating aspect of this whole story is how detached it is from reality.

There’s no evidence that violent media causes violent actions, let alone in games specifically.

Major Republican committees and President Donald Trump’s reelection campaign are pulling all advertising money from Twitter as of Thursday morning after the platform locked Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s (R-KY) campaign account for violating the platform’s rules.

Trump’s campaign, the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), and the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) are promising to not spend any money on future Twitter campaign ads.

Richard Waters, the chief of staff of the Republican National Committee (RNC), said in a tweet that his organization, along with the Trump campaign, will not advertise on Twitter until “they address this disgusting bias.”

I have directed the @nrcc to immediately halt all spending with @Twitter until they correct their inexcusable targeting of @Team_Mitch.

We will stand firmly with our friends against anti-conservative bias.
