We have in recent years tried some of smartphone models from Doro, the Swedish manufacturer that specializes in mobile phones for seniors. It looks great as a table clock when you charge the handset, but the location makes it impractical to hold if you want to upload, and such ring simultaneously. This does not mean that it is tough. The camera in front for self-portraits and video calls are a completely different story, it makes us greatly disappointed. Here sits a TINPOT VGA sensor gives blurry and grainy images even in good lighting conditions, and constant motion blur. Anyone who wants to talk to Skype with your kids should probably consider a laptop or better tablet instead.
GIFMastering the game of chess is infinitely complicated, but getting started just got easier with a chess board that s perfectly set up and ready to go as soon as you open the box. Before newcomers can even begin to start learning how the various chess pieces move around the board, they have to know what squares the pawns, bishops, rooks, knights, kings, and queens all call home.GIFAs a game of chess plays out, captured pieces are returned to their designated and labeled slots in the game s box.The bottom of each piece, and the double-sided chess board, are all magnetic. The game s design also helps ensure that every piece is accounted for at the end of a game, and that none of them go missing when it s being haphazardly stuffed into your game shelf. It s not indestructible, but should certainly survive being swept off the table in a rage every time your partner puts you in check.
In combination with the latter are a pair of clasps on either side to make the Bermuda portable, although it runs off mains power only, from a little wall-wart transformer.Related: Rega Planar 3 2016 reviewOut of the box, the four leg holes underneath are plugged with plastic bungs, so the Crosley Bermuda can be sat on a table or sideboard, but there are four rather nice, ebonised-wood legs supplied that screw into the holes and make the Bermuda freestanding. The tonearm has none of the sweeping grace of the old Dansette units – it s just a metal tube with a cheap-looking plastic headshell and a little metal counterweight.Ouch.Just don t expect anything approaching high fidelity – the sonics are more akin to a mid-priced Bluetooth speaker than an entry-level micro hi-fi.As with the Cruiser II, I feel like Crosley should invest more in the turntable components and hike up the price a little.

GIFChinese restaurants can be really fun and lively places, where family and friends gather around giant banquet tables to talk, drink, and laugh together—all while eating food that s constantly being spun around a Lazy Susan.Anatola Howard s short animation Giraffe Soup captures the essence of eating Chinese food at a Chinese restaurant perfectly. It s also really great because it tells the story from the perspective of a kid, which translates perfectly to any outsider who s looked at the dishes on the table and wondered what in the heck they were about to eat.

Google I/O: Google attempts to monopolise mobile life even further with video app Duo and smart messaging app Allo that can reply for youGoogle is attempting to compete with WhatsApp, Snapchat and iMessage with two new messaging applications that hope to keep people using its services, and inputting information, even when they re communicating.Allo and Duo will be available on Android and iOS this summer and claim to take a fresh look on how people connect – either with friends or family or in a business environment.Allo AlloGoogle AlloIntegration with Google s newly announced Google Assistant is a key distinguishing feature of Allo, which learns how you interact and can even reply for you depending on the context of the message or even a photo thanks to image recognition technology. This includes weather, flight details, maps and sports scores and Assistant can even perform tasks like booking a table at a restaurant.Crucially for businesses, Allo offers end to end encryption for chats with an incognito mode similar to the one in Chrome.Messaging has become an increasingly important battlefield for technology companies that want to keep users in their ecosystems for as long as possible so they view more ads and provide more information.

Starbucks Free Wifi Security ConcernsWalk by any Starbucks within 100 miles of your house and chances are that you ll see several people sitting at a table, drinking coffee and enjoying the free Wi-Fi.Starbucks and free Wi-Fi have become synonymous with one another over the past few years — one unable to exists without the other — but the next time you log on to a public coffee shop hotspot, you might want to consider the risks you re taking.Of course, there s nothing special about the Wi-Fi at Starbucks specifically, but it s a place where nearly everyone has connected at some point.give me 1-4 hours or less and close enough distance to a wifi antenna, I ll break your WPA2… but give me 15 minutes and I ll break your WEP.One the other hand, computer security engineer David Seidman explains that the chances of being targeted on a random hotspot at a random hotspot is unlikely: However, the truth is that most users will never be targeted because such an operation is risky and, more importantly, time consuming for the attacker, because the attacker needs to be physically present. Thanks to the sharing economy, living in five different cities in five years has never been more doable.
While the open multiplayer was hit or miss for most players, now that the new Doom has been released, reviews have been praising the campaign mode of developer id Software's reboot. The game manages to walk the tightrope of staying loyal to the classic originals, while still bringing something new to the table and incorporating modern FPS mechanics. One such detail is a new difficultly level called Ultra Nightmare, a new spin on the originals' most challenging level, Nightmare which the new Doom still has .Doom has been out for less than a week now, and one player has already beaten it on this difficulty. You can see the entire 4 hours, 47 minutes completion here.Quite an achievement indeed.
Jason Snell explains.Credit: AppleSince the day the Apple Watch was announced in September 2014, and certainly once it launched in April 2015, people have been speculating about what the second-generation Apple Watch might bring to the table.Apple could certainly make it thinner and lighter, though I don t consider the size of the Apple Watch to be one of its biggest issues—it s not any bigger than the mechanical watches I used to wear. This is a very limited feature, but it s undoubtedly the start of a long drive toward independence.Do I really want to pay an extra $10/month to add my Apple Watch to the constellation of devices attached to my AT Wireless account?A few carriers have added explicit support for wearable devices: T-Mobile has a wearable data plan and AT is happy to sell you a LGWatch Urbane connected to its cellular network.
