Anne Robinson has admitted she doesn’t think she’d be able to make her infamous barbed comments on The Weakest Link if the show were made in 2021.The TV presenter was notorious for her putdowns during her stint hosting The Weakest Link on both sides of the Atlantic in the early 2000s.When she was appointed the new host of Countdown earlier this year, clips of Anne’s exchanges with Weakest Link contestants resurfaced online, which many Twitter users felt crossed a line.In one clip, she was seen asking a single mother “how many ASBOS” her three sons have, while another saw her branding one woman “a bit lumpy and ugly”.  Meanwhile, a third clip featured her questioning why a contestant was “dressed like a lesbian”.Reflecting on her days presenting The Weakest Link, the 76-year-old told the Daily Mail: “I would never get away with all that now. Times have changed so much that I don’t think we could even make The Weakest Link today.“I don’t think half the things I said then I could say now. Like: ‘Are you really that stupid?’ Or: ‘Why are you so fat?’ That would be off limits.”She added: “Everyone would be too worried about the poor contestants’ mental health. Everyone would be too worried about sending them home with issues.”When the news of her Countdown role was announced in February, Anne vowed to “tone down the nastiness” with which she became synonymous on The Weakest Link, adding a slightly ominous: “Sort of.”She later joked: “I am beyond thrilled to be joining Countdown. The show is almost as old as I am and just as historic.“I am particularly excited to be working alongside the Show’s two other formidable women. Worryingly, Susie [Dent] and Rachel [Riley] are not only very smart but younger, prettier and thinner than me. Sadly, there’s no time for another face lift so I’ll have to make do with this old one.”The Weakest Link recently returned to US screens after 18 years in 2020, with former Glee star Jane Lynch taking over from Anne on presenting duties.READ MORE:Anne Robinson Berates Weakest Link Contestants In Shocking Unearthed Clips20 Things You Never Knew About The Weakest Link On The Iconic Show's 20th AnniversaryAnne Robinson To Make TV History As The New Host Of Countdown

Boris Johnson has attempted to downplay tensions with US president Joe Biden over Brexit following the pair’s first ever face-to-face meeting as leaders. The prime minister praised Biden as a “breath of fresh air” after the Donald Trump years and an ally who wants to work with the UK on issues from security to climate change.Johnson meanwhile insisted that there is “absolutely common ground” between the pair on the need to protect peace in Northern Ireland amid a simmering row between the UK and EU over how post-Brexit arrangements are being implemented in the region.Biden - who is proud of his Irish ancestry - is thought to be seriously concerned about Johnson potentially refusing to implement parts of the Northern Ireland protocol and earlier this month ordered officials to deliver a formal diplomatic rebuke to the UK for imperilling the peace process over Brexit.Johnson and his Brexit minister Lord Frost want the EU to be less “purist” about applying checks on goods entering Northern Ireland from Great Britain, but Brussels is threatening a trade war with the UK unless it properly implements the deal it signed up to.The president was expected to use Thursday’s meeting to urge Johnson to “stand behind” the protocol. But asked if Biden urged him to “crack on” and implement the deal, Johnson told reporters: “No he didn’t.“But what I can say is that America, the United States, Washington, the UK plus the European Union, have one thing we absolutely all want to do, and that is to uphold the Belfast Good Friday Agreement and make sure we keep the balance of the peace process going.“That’s absolutely common ground and I’m optimistic that we can do that.”The PM added: “The talks were great, they went on for a long time, we covered a huge range of subjects and it’s wonderful to listen to the Biden administration and to Joe Biden because there’s so much that they want to do together with us, from security, Nato to climate change.“It’s fantastic, it’s a breath of fresh air.”It came after 80 minutes of talks between Johnson and Biden on the eve of the G7 summit in Carbis Bay, Cornwall, at which they signed a new Atlantic charter, paving the way for co-operation on challenges including climate change and security. Also attending the meeting were UK foreign secretary Dominic Raab and US secretary of state Anthony Blinken.Yael Lempert, America’s most senior diplomat in the UK, was also present hours after the Times revealed that she was ordered by Biden to deliver a demarche – a formal protest – in a meeting with Brexit minister Lord Frost on June 3.In a joint statement following the meeting, Johnson and Biden reaffirmed their commitment to the Good Friday Agreement for peace in Northern Ireland. But Johnson had earlier tried to gloss over any tensions with Biden by suggesting the pair would not disagree on “anything”.Ahead of the high level talks, the two leaders admired the view over Carbis Bay with their wives - Carrie Johnson and Jill Biden. As the politicians sat down to talk, Biden said: “I told the prime minister we have something in common. We both married way above our stations.”Johnson responded: “I’m not going to dissent on that one. I’m not going to disagree with you there or indeed on anything else, I think highly likely.”Talks between Frost and the European Commission’s Maros Sefcovic on Wednesday failed to make a breakthrough on the protocol. The EU has threatened to launch a trade war against Britain if it fails to implement checks on goods entering Northern Ireland under the terms of the Brexit “divorce” settlement which Johnson signed. But Frost has refused to rule out unilaterally delaying the imposition of checks on British-made sausages and other chilled meats due to come into force at the end of the month. At a press conference in Brussels on Thursday ahead of the summit, European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen again insisted the protocol was the “only solution” to prevent a hard border between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland and must be implemented in full.In a joint statement following the meeting, Johnson and Biden reaffirmed their commitment to the Good Friday Agreement for peace in Northern Ireland. A Downing Street spokesperson added separately: “The prime minister and president both reaffirmed their commitment to the Belfast (Good Friday) Agreement and to protecting the gains of the peace process.“The leaders agreed that both the EU and the UK had a responsibility to work together and to find pragmatic solutions to allow unencumbered trade between Northern Ireland, Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland.“The prime minister outlined his ambitions to further expand opportunities for all the people in Northern Ireland and hoped that the US would continue to work with the UK to boost prosperity there.”Related...Joe Biden Will Not Believe PM's 'Abject' Excuse For Brexit ‘Mess’, Lisa Nandy SuggestsJill Biden Hailed As 'Queen Of Shade' For Perceived Diss Of Melania TrumpBoris Johnson Defends Flying From London To Cornwall

It’s The One We’ve All Been Waiting For – yes, the Friends reunion is finally here, and “Oh! My! God!” was it worth the wait. The special retrospective was filled with laughs, tears and nostalgia as Lisa Kudrow, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer looked back at the iconic sitcom that earned itself a place in the hearts of millions across the globe and propelled the actors to stratospheric fame.Almost 17 years to the day since the sitcom originally wrapped in the US, the reunion debuted on both sides of the Atlantic, giving fans a long-awaited fix of their favourite comedy. From musical collaborations to on-set revelations and romances that almost were, here are the 12 biggest talking points from the special...1. The One Where Jennifer And David Nearly Got Together The Ross and Rachel love saga was one of Friends’ defining and most popular storylines, but David Schwimmer and Jennifer Aniston revealed how it nearly translated into real life. The pair said they were “crushing hard” on each other after first meeting. “The first season I had a major crush on Jen,” David revealed. “And I think we both, at some point, were crushing hard on each other but it was like two ships passing because one of us was always in a relationship and we never crossed that boundary. We respected that.”Jennifer agreed and confirmed their first kiss came on screen when Ross and Rachel embraced in Central Perk during season two’s The One Where Ross Finds Out.“I remember saying at one point to David, ‘It’s going to be such a bummer if the first time you and I actually kiss is gonna be on national television!’ ” she said, according to the New York Post. “Sure enough, the first time we kissed was in that coffee shop,”She added: “So we just channelled all of our adoration and love for each other into Ross and Rachel.”2. Many of the cast were not all that familiar with the showLisa Kudrow and Matthew Perry admitted they had not seen full seasons of the show.Lisa said she recently started watching some of season four with husband Michel, revealing: “He enjoys them more than I do because I’m mortified with myself.”David Schwimmer also said he’d not watched the show in 17 years and only started re-watching it recently when his daughter started watching over the past year.3. Could Matt LeBlanc BE any more injured? The One Where No One’s Ready is beloved by fans, mainly for the iconic moment Joey enters the room wearing the entire contents of Chandler’s wardrobe, declaring: “Could I BE wearing any more clothes?”However, Matt Le Blanc actually sustained an injury when Chandler and Joey were arguing over the chair.Matt jumped on to the chair “perfectly” during the first three takes, but on the fourth attempt he slipped and his shoulder came out of its socket.Footage of the incident was shown during the special and showed Matt’s arm noticeably lower than it should have been.Filming was stopped for the day so he could receive medical attention. 4. That was not Matt’s only Friends-related injury, however Matt revealed he’d been out drinking with a friend the night before his audition and fell over, smacking his face on a toilet. He ended up with a huge scab on his nose, but it actually helped him win over show bosses, as they were even more endeared when he explained what had happened. 5. Friends bosses took a major gamble on hiring Jennifer AnistonJennifer had already signed up to a show called Muddling Through prior to landing the role of Rachel – who was the last of the main characters to be cast. Muddling Through had shot six episodes but bosses cast her as Rachel anyway and said they would share her with the other show to see who wins in the battle of staying on the air.It was a major gamble for Friends, as they shot the first three episodes of series one while Muddling Through was still on TV, and if the other show had been picked up for a full series, they would have had to reshoot those three episodes with a different actor playing Rachel. When Jennifer begged the producer of Muddling Through to release her from her contract, he told her Friends “would not make her a star”.6. David Schwimmer actually had a strong dislike of Marcel, Ross’s pet monkeyDuring a Q&A segment, the stars were asked if there was a part of the show they did not like.“The monkey,” David replied. He said not only would the animal mess up their well-orchestrated takes, but his handler would feed him live bugs during filming, which he would then eat and proceed to wipe his dirty hands on David. The actor said: “I would have monkey grubby hands all over. It was time for Marcel to fuck off!”7. Smelly Cat gets the Lady Gaga treatment  Lady Gaga has duetted with some of the greats, including Beyoncé, Ariana Grande and Bradley Cooper – but she can now add Lisa Kudrow to that list. She was joined by Gaga for a special performance of Phoebe Buffay’s iconic song Smelly Cat on the Central Perk set, where they were later joined by gospel singers.Lisa, having slipped into character, muttered: “Still think it’s better when it’s just me.”Gaga agreed and thanked her for being “the different one” on the show.8. The other celebrity cameos were also kinda sweetProducers squeezed in more celebrity guests with a fashion show of Friends outfits, with Justin Bieber, Cindy Crawford and Cara Delevingne all strutting their stuff on the catwalk.David Beckham also popped up with some of his favourite memories from the show. 9. As too were the appearances from much-loved supporting cast membersThere was an emotional moment when Elliott Gould and Christina Pickles – who played the Gellers’ parents – turned up in the studio audience, while Maggie Wheeler – aka Janice – arrived in true “Oh! My! God!” style.Tom Selleck, who starred as Monica’s boyfriend Richard, also surprised the cast, as did Larry Hankin, who played noisy neighbour Mr Heckles. Meanwhile, James Michael Tyler, who played Central Perk boss Gunther, Zoomed in.10. It was never the original plan to have Monica and Chandler settle down togetherProducers decided to make Monica and Chandler an official couple after the “insane” reaction of the studio audience when it was first revealed they’d spent the night together in London, rather than leave it a one-off.Friends co-creator Marta Kaufman said: “It was such a powerful moment that we knew we had to explore it more.”11. While different endings were also discussed for Ross and RachelCo-creator David Crane said there was “some discussion” about whether Ross and Rachel should get together at the end of the show, when she “got off the plane” and abandoned the chance of a new life in Paris to be with him.Revealing the writers’ room conversations, David said: “We discussed perhaps ambivalent endings where it seems like down the road…but we went ’No, this is Friends, people have been waiting 10 years to see this couple get together, we have to got give them what they want.“We just have to find a way so that the journey is unexpected.”12. And sorry everyone, but this reunion won’t lead to a movie or more episodesLisa seemingly shot down those hopes, saying: “It’s all up to Marta [Kauffman] and David [Crane, the co-creators] and I once heard them say, and I completely agree, that they ended the show very nicely….“They would have to unravel all of those good things in order for there to be stories.”Courteney also insisted the cast won’t be reuniting again publicly to talk old times.“Honestly, this will really make me cry, but this will be the last time that we’re ever asked about the show as a group that we will do this,” she said. “Like, we’re not going to do this [again] in 15 more years.”She, however, did have reassuring words for her castmates.“I’ll tell you one thing: We are not waiting so long to have dinner,” she added.“No we will not,” Jennifer agreed. “We will not wait that long to get together.”Friends: The Reunion will air in the UK on Thursday 27 May at 8pm on Sky One, and is also available to stream on NOW.HuffPost may receive a share from purchases made via links on this page. The iconic Type Atlantic 57 SC coupe, produced between 1934 and 1940, is admittedly a piece of Bugatti legend. It’s elegant, sporty, luxurious, and rare, with only three cars still in existence. Credit: Habib Orhan Almost 100 years later, designer Habib Orhan has introduced his Bugatti Hommage 100 2036 concept car that reimagines the emblematic coupe as a futuristic electric-powered model.  Its spaceship-like shape is redefined in a more three-dimensional way, inspired by the Atlantic 57 SC and the C shape of the Ventoux coupe. The concept car also maintains the proportions of the GT series, to combine a luxurious and emotional…This story continues at The Next Web
