InnovoEdge, a multi-cloud and edge AI application orchestration company, today announced that Michael Vitale has joined the executive team as Chief Technology Officer.

Prior to joining the company, Mike was SVP, Webcasting, at PGi and spent over a decade as the CTO of TalkPoint, where he was a pioneer in developing and commercializing SaaS broadcasting platforms used on a daily basis by the Fortune 500.“We could not be more excited to have Mike join our leadership team,” said Nick Balletta, InnovoEdge’s CEO.

Tell us about your role in Searchspring?I was hired into Searchspring as the CTO in September 2019 after Searchspring had acquired a second ecommerce company, Nextopia.

I was brought on to help understand the state of each platform, what the future should be for each of the products and how the engineering teams should be structured to help get to that future state.2.

Can you tell us about your journey into this market?I worked as a Sales Engineer for Endeca when they made a beachhead into the Canadian market – Endeca at the time powered the search and nav of 50% of the IR 100.

After that, I co-founded GroupBy Inc who was subsequently asked by Google to build a replacement ecommerce platform for the deprecated Google Site Search.3.

How do you think technology is upgrading the marketing Sector?The ubiquity of cloud computing reduced the barrier to entry into ecommerce to almost zero.

As technology matures, for example, search, the feature sets that were only achieved by the IR 100 are now commonplace for entry level stores.

After touting the launch of the world's first 5G network in December, it still hasn't made it available to anyone aside from select, friendly business customers.

CNET's speed test of 5G networks around the world, spanning everywhere from Seoul to London and many cities in between, have found startling high speeds but limited or spotty coverage.

All new network deployments have their fair share of growing pains, but this generation's rollout has been far more problematic.

If the last few years have been all about building up hype for when 5G becomes reality, 2019 has been about sustaining that hype until 5G becomes something ready for mainstream consumers.

It's been about a series of first: AT and Korean telecom player KT jockeying to be the first to launch a 5G; Verizon launching the first 5G network available to US consumers; Motorola launching the first 5G device through a Moto Mod attachment; Samsung launching the first 5G smartphone; or EE launching the first UK network.

Ultimately, this is more about bragging rights and the ability to tout network superiority over their competitors, and less about whether you as a consumer are going to get a good experience.

Tell us about your role at InFront Compliance?I am co-founder and the chief technical officer of InFront Compliance.

In a small business, roles are always broad and we tend to wear a lot of ‘hats’.

Can you tell us about your journey into this market?My journey to where we are now started 25 years ago, when I first began learning to code.

From there, I spent ten years helping my clients with data privacy, technology, and corporate issues.

Over 80% of financial institutions are still managing third party compliance using spreadsheets, even as they have begun to adopt governance and risk software platforms.

We think there’s an opportunity to reduce this manual error and make compliance a collaborative process that’s transparent across all of the relevant stakeholders and efficient to arrive at decisions quickly and monitor relationships to reduce risk.
