MaaS Australia, founded by investors in MaaS Finland, is on board to take the concept to a country very different from Finland. One click would pay for it all and you could choose based on price, time, possibly a preferred route, or maybe even sights and scenes along the way.The monthly commuter package would include all your travel that month, whether by car, bus, taxi or other mode of transportation. As a bonus, this package would cover home grocery order deliveries, too.The economic models for consumers show that most people would save money by only using cars when they need them, along with other transportation services, rather than paying the costs of ownership. It ll be a big change from the long-standing love affair Americans and people in many other countries have had with their cars, and it won t change overnight.
Google has taken the wraps off Google Home, its push to bring the Google Assistant into the heart of the family, and push back at Amazon's Alexa in the process. The same is true for video, with the ability to request clips and movies to stream via a Chromecast plugged into a TV.Text messages can be sent by voice, restaurant bookings made or adjusted,However, there'll be support for various smart home products, including Nest and a variety of the "most popular" lights and more.In the future, Google says, it expects Google Home to support things like ordering a car, sending flowers, making purchases, and more by voice. As for the services Google Home offers, it sounds a lot like what we saw Viv demonstrate earlier this month. That, developed by the team responsible for the original Siri, does a similar sort of contextual linking of services.
But it ll be nice to have.Warner Bros. is releasing enhanced versions of the first two Batman Arkham games, Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.Return to Arkham debuts July 26 and includes all of the downloadable content created for the action games. This is easy money for Warner Bros., since it can release a new product without having to go through the expensive process of making a new game. While some gamers don t care for this practice, remasters do have a benefit — getting older games in front of players who may have never tried them before. And who doesn t want a chance to listen to Mark Hamill take a break from his main gig as Luke Skywalker to portray The Joker, a voice role he s performed and perfected for TV programs and games since Batman: The Animated Series debut in 1992.Arkham Asylum originally came out in 2009, with Arkham City following in 2011.Fans and critics loved both games which originally came out for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 for their faithfulness to the Batman franchise and satisfying, combo-based combat.Everything from Gears of War, Dishonored, Tomb Raider, and the Uncharted trilogy has made the jump.
REUTERS/Mike Blake Reuters - United Parcel Service Inc, the world's largest package delivery company, said on Wednesday it will expand the 3D printing services provided through its UPS Stores to create an on-demand manufacturing network starting this summer.Atlanta-based UPS and SAP SE also announced a partnership in which Europe's largest software company will provide supply chain solutions to help manufacturers get products to market more quickly and at a lower cost."Speed is critical to us and we see tremendous value" in extending SAP's capabilities further down the supply chain via UPS, said John Dulchinos, vice president for strategic capabilities at contract manufacturer Jabil Circuit Inc, in a telephone interview with Reuters.UPS already offers 3D printing services using ABSplus, an industrial grade thermoplastic, at more than 60 UPS Stores around the United States.Under the new system, customers will be able to upload digital designs to First Radius, a company specializing in 3D printing in which UPS holds a minority stake.IDC Research Inc analyst Robert Parker said the network will bring UPS only modest benefits at first because 3D printers have limited capabilities at present and few printable materials available.
At launch the original Moto 360 seemed an almost sci-fi take on the smartwatch, while the Moto 360 2015 brought it into the present with a more practical – frankly more normal – yet still stunning look. It's easy, it's quick and the Moto 360 Sport also hooks onto GPS satellites very quickly, usually in well under 30 seconds in my experience – it seems that Motorola uses both a faster and less power-sapping GPS chip than Sony does in the SmartWatch 3.This enables it to produce post-workout graphs that look about right, but comparing the results to those of a sensor at the gym shows the results are consistently off.As ever with an Android Wear device, only Android phone users should seriously consider buying a Moto 360 Sport.iOS support is fair, but the features available in third-party apps will be limited. With its dynamic screen and GPS there's an appeal here that other Android Wear watches just don't have.
The instruments we used to test these machines are capable of detecting particles as small as 0.010 micron, which is far below the threshold for civilian equipment and below the 0.3 micron threshold for the HEPA standard. What follows is just a summary of our findings, but for those who are interested in learning more, the How we tested section of our full review includes our procedures, methods, and results, complete with tables and graphs of our results. The thin 3/16-inch activated carbon filter is just not up to the task.If you have severe allergies to particulate allergens or other health issues related to air quality, or you re willing to pay a premium for a machine that can be extremely efficient while running quietly, we recommend our upgrade pick, the Blueair 503 with the SmokeStop filter package. In our noise-limited tests, it removed more than 90 percent of the particles from our bedroom-sized testing area in 10 minutes—that s over 10 percent more than the next best purifier and over 60 percent more effective than the control. Its exceptional performance in this area is a big part of why FEMA and the Red Cross chose Austin Air units for deployment at Ground Zero and the surrounding areas in the aftermath of 9/11.
If we re right, this poses a long-term strategic risk for these firms, analysts including Jason Bazinet wrote in a research note.Citigroup downgraded Scripps and Discovery to sell from neutral and maintained a neutral rating for Viacom.Hulu, the online video service co-owned by 21st Century Fox Inc., Walt Disney Co. and Comcast Corp., is said to be planning a live TV package of channels from its owners and their peers.Because the three represent the largest buyers of sports rights in the U.S., Citigroup expects one Hulu bundle to be sports-centric -- what it termed NewLu.Discovery slumped 3.3 percent to $26.55 and Viacom lost 1.7 percent to $38.74.Disney Chief Executive Officer Bob Iger confirmed Hulu s plans to become a cable-like service Wednesday, saying the move will help his company as a part owner of Hulu and as a programmer.Media companies and pay-TV distributors are beginning to offer smaller packages of live channels as an alternative to costly cable and satellite service and to draw new viewers to their channels.Sports content is unique: it s not fungible with Web-based video offerings from Netflix and Amazon, they wrote in the note.

Earlier this month, Hulu confirmed that it was developing a cable-like online TV package to expand its footprint to areas like sports, news, and events. And this new service could seriously shake up the sports TV landscape, according to analysts at Citi.In a note on Monday, Citi analysts laid out a contrarian point about the future of sports programming.Wall Street tends to think sports-centric cable networks with their long, fixed-price contracts face the greatest risk from cord-cutting, the analysts wrote.Citi thinks Hulu will keep price down by limiting expenses including fees from set-top boxes, DVR services, and franchises, while also cutting out the channels of Viacom, Scripps, and Discovery.Citi doesn t think sports fans will care about content from Viacom, etc., and thus will get shut out.The analysts argue that a focus on making sports an immersive experience would help Hulu charge a premium for its new service in the long-run.But, by making this strategic pivot now, NewLu what the analysts are dubbing the new offering puts sports on a radically divergent path from the rest of linear video.
My.Flow The company has developed a tampon with Bluetooth which then can give the world's women information about what's happening down there via a related app. The app keeps track of how the tampon is saturated and give the user a little notice when it is time to change. Therefore one uses now a covered copper string, which can be between 15 and 30 centimeters long, which is connected to a separate Bluetooth device when talking to the phone and the associated app. my.Flow will sell the Bluetooth device to around SEK 400 and a packet of tampons will cost 100 kronor. How many people are in this package, you say one but according my.Flow itself should be enough for about a month. gizmodo.com
Gamespot gives the title 10/10, saying that the single player journey is "remarkable" and that it's a game many will talk about "for years to come".Despite being the first in the series to be developed by The Coalition, "fans shouldn't fear for the series being placed in new hands; The Coalition includes studio manager Rod Fergusson, who helped create the original title at the series' previous developer, Epic Games", Gamespresso says.Release date: 11 OctoberAt the forefront of Xbox One's aspirations to merge media platforms, Quantum Break bundles together a time-warping sci-fi shooter and a live-action television series, with a cast pulled from The Lord of the Rings and X-Men films.Release date: Out nowThe third Dark Souls game – and the fourth in the Souls series – is set in the Kingdom of Lothric and lulls you into a false sense of security from the start, says the Daily Telegraph.Reviewers have praised the design, combat, storytelling, difficulty and setting, with Stuff calling it "brutally enthralling".Gran Turismo has a guilty past of neglecting how cars sound – critics often make scathing comparisons to vacuum cleaners - and GT Sport needs to make big advances in this area in order to feel like a complete package, says Alphr.
Google I/O 2016 Google's I/O developer conference isn't just about code – the Chocolate Factory has many schemes and attendees have been drawn to a large balloon hovering in a corner of the conference venue. Each balloon has a 100W solar panel array that charges a battery for nighttime operations, LTE antennas capable of covering around 80 kilometers on the ground, and additional antennas to relay traffic to other balloons.A Google spokesman told The Reg that the instrument package hasn't been finalized and may include weather-monitoring kit that could be used by Google, and possibly sold on to weather forecasting agencies. The system has had a number of trials, notably in New Zealand – where Google partnered with local telco Vodafone to provide a network backbone for the LTE traffic. So far the results have been good, Google said, but the system needs to be tested at scale using thousands of balloons. It's an interesting project, and one that would be welcomed in large chunks of the world where coverage is sporadic or unavailable.
And Google wants a piece of that action. In that respect, it's following in the footsteps of Google's OnHub routers, which also put smarter tech in your space without obviously looking the part.Google says it can pull up songs, playlists, podcasts, and more from an array of services: certainly Google Play Music, but hopefully also Spotify and others.Home will also let you set alarms and timers, manage to-do and shopping lists, pull up package delivery information, give you a heads-up on traffic concerns for your commute, and read off travel itineraries from Gmail.Naturally, Nest hardware will be compatible since it's all owned by Google: the company's smart thermometers, smoke detectors, and security cameras will all be controllable with your voice via Home, letting you make changes wherever you are.But we'll surely see a lot more cross-compatibility with other devices, too, letting you manage lights, switches, and locks with a simple voice command.
