When Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Fold, it didn't just announce another phone -- it kicked off a revolution in the way we interact with mobile devices. But the Fold soon suffered screen breakages and other glitches, and the revolution stalled. It's been nearly four weeks since we've heard any details from Samsung about the Fold.An AT email to customers suggested that the phone would come next month.Consumers, industry players and reviewers alike are waiting with bated breath. If Samsung wants to ensure that the Fold is free of problems, it should spend the appropriate time and resources on fixing everything, regardless of internal deadlines or pressure from carrier partners, consumers or the press.
The recently announced $670 OnePlus 7 Pro is available to buy now, but it's the priciest OnePlus phone to date. The OnePlus 6T is still a fantastic smartphone that costs $120 less than the OnePlus 7 Pro.Keep the price difference between the two phones in mind when you consider what the OnePlus 7 Pro has compared to the OnePlus 6T.The OnePlus 6T runs on an older chip than the OnePlus 7 Pro — the Snapdragon 845 versus the Snapdragon 855, respectively. The older Snapdragon 845 from 2018 is still a workhorse.Coupled with OnePlus' lightweight Oxygen OS interface that runs on top of Android, and the fact that the OnePlus 6T comes with 8 GB of RAM, the OnePlus 6T is still an extremely capable smartphone.
Loyal to the Chinese manufacturer’s “flagship killer” philosophy, the phone packed best-in-class specs at a price much lower than its flagship counterparts – a compelling reason not to fork out a thousand dollars just for a new phone.Android phones may be cheaper than reliable iPhones, but we need them to last more than a couple of months to make it worth it.I don’t have a timer to test it out, but there is no noticeable lag, and it can handle a whole bunch of heavy apps – from games to editing tools – confidently, without issues.Equipped with 8GB RAM and a beefy SnapDragon 845, it was the arguably the fastest and most powerful phone on the market in time last year.Camera is now better with third-party helpOnePlus is certainly trading blows with the big boys when it comes to performance, but its always trailed a little in the camera department.

There was a time when prepaid plans were reserved almost exclusively for young people and often the “credit challenged.” After all, prepaid phone plans were generally less impressive than carrier plans, with too many restrictions to make them appealing, and prepaid phones were just a small step better than utter garbage.Nowadays, prepaid phone plans actually tend to offer the best value for consumers and generally share many of the same perks you’d find with a traditional “postpaid” plan.A lot of it will come down to what network best suits you, though below we’ve gathered up several of the best smartphones available in the prepaid world right now, from the best of the high-end flagships to the best of the mid-range phones to the best from the budget line.Looking for full lists of the best prepaid phones for a specific network? For those that would rather go unlocked and bring your phone to a compatible GSM network, you’ll also want to take a look at the following lists:Editor’s note – We will be updating this list as more devices hit the market.
Last month, CNET editor Jessica Dolcourt traveled to Chicago to test the Galaxy S10 5G and experience first-hand what the carrier's new 5G network on a 5G phone was like.It wasn't as fast or reliable as expected, but when she tested it out again this week, data speeds blew past 1Gbps.In April, Sprint and AT reached a settlement after Sprint sued AT for displaying "5G E" connectivity on some of its phones, including iPhones.Despite all these legal issues, that doesn't mean Apple is totally ignoring 5G.As mentioned before, some iPhone models on AT are displaying the misleading "5G E" symbol on its network.Priced at $1,300 and originally unveiled during Unpacked, it has a 6.7-inch display, four rear cameras and the ability to wirelessly charge other devices.
If you’re looking for a smartphone with flagship power but without a flagship price, then you’d traditionally look for a OnePlus phone.Apple’s iPhone XR and Samsung’s Galaxy S10e offer the same power as their flagship brethren, but at a lower price.162.6 × 75.9 × 8.8 mm (6.4 × 2.98 × 0.34 inches)142.2 x 69.9 x 7.9 mm (5.60 x 2.75 x 0.31 inches)150.9 x 75.7 x 8.3 mm (5.94 x 2.98 x 0.33 inches)6.1-inch Liquid Retina HD IPS LCD
Since the advent of Google’s first smartphone, the Pixel branding has been reserved for premium flagships. The addition of lower-specced Pixels to Google’s roster allows it to show off its hardware-making skills not to mention its ever-smarter assistant. The handsets needed to be close to their older siblings in terms of features and performance.I used the Purple-ish model with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, running Android 9 Pie firmware version PD2A.190115.032 with the March 5, 2019 Android security patch. You might want to consider the 3a XL if those are the features you prefer. In addition to the 18W fast charging power adaptor and USB-C cable, the Pixel 3a includes a quick switch dongle.
It's unfamiliar, at times uncomfortable, and it takes a while before things start to feel normal. But once you get used to it, you almost forget what made you so uneasy in the first place.I've temporarily switched from the iPhone to various Android devices on many occasions over the years, but ultimately I've always ended up choosing Apple's smartphone as my primary device. But after recently swapping out my iPhone XS Max for a Google Pixel 3a XL, I was surprised by how little I missed my iPhone, despite the fact that Google's phone was less than half as expensive. You can set up a separate profile for family members that lets them store their own apps, accounts, and data in a space that's completely separate from yours. So if you hand off your phone to your 9-year-old cousin so that she can play "Angry Birds," you can just switch to her account or a guest account and rest assured that she won't accidentally make a purchase or change your Facebook status.
There's a widely held belief that Facebook uses smartphones to listen in on users, and then serve those users advertisements based on their speech.Facebook has repeatedly denied doing as much.Despite those denials from Facebook, and evidence from experts to the contrary, the belief is widely held and seemingly unshakable.Visit Business Insider's homepage for more stories. There you were, talking to Gina about a potential trip this fall to Buenos Aires."Maybe I'll go to Buenos Aires this fall!"
Everyone's iPhone lock screen looks exactly the same.Apple could make the iPhone lock screen way more personal — and useful — by taking a page from the Apple Watch. You have the time and date in the top-center of the phone, some information like battery life and signal strength at the very top, and a couple of quick-access controls for the flashlight and camera at the bottom. This is fine, but wouldn't it be nice if you could actually customize your iPhone's lock screen, so it could look and feel the way you want it to?This is the current iPhone lock screen — mine, to be exact. Here's Steve Jobs demonstrating the very first iPhone lock screen.

Buying a new phone, confused about the OS?This decision mainly depends on your previous OS.A similar report published by investment bank Morgan Stanley shows 92 percent of iPhone users will continue with iOS.There is much reason and first of all your will is enough but if you are still confused and wish to know technical reasons for why you should go for an iPhone or an Android you should have a little knowledge about these two.Brand Value: No other brand in the world have as much brand value as an iPhone.Battery Power: The New iPhone has an express card with power reserve which means your iPhone retains enough battery life even when the phone powers off for digital transit cards and student ID cards to work still.
The Realme X falls into the final category. It has a Snapdragon 710 processor, a notch-less AMOLED screen, a 48-megapixel camera, a pop-up selfie camera, and a striking design. The Realme X, should it be released at this price, will cause quite a stir. However, it’s not sleek like some $1,000 phones, and that’s OK, because it’s a fifth of that price. The sleep/wake key on the right-hand side is gold in color on our version — called punk blue — and easy to locate with the finger, but the volume keys are on the opposite side of the phone which isn’t very ergonomic for those that are right-handed.On the bottom of the phone is a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C charging port.
It turns out that Lenovo didn’t create a promotional video that teased the upcoming Motorola Razr foldable phone, reported Engadget today.Instead, the video was reportedly spliced together from a separate video created by YouTube user Waqar Khan.Lenovo shared the 30-second teaser video yesterday with members of the media. The teaser showed what looks to be renders of the Razr, along with various shots of the phone being folded and unfolded. The last shot is three Razr renders unfolding in sequence, with the camera panning around the devices as they unfold. What’s interesting is that Lenovo’s video is remarkably similar to one that Khan published in February, down to the renders that were used.
In New York City, a lot of people around me are toting expensive flagship phones from big names in the smartphone business, like Apple and Samsung. And after checking out the few phones from 2019 so far, even the recent OnePlus 7 Pro, I can't say the OnePlus 6T feels like "last year's phone," at least when you consider its price tag.Surely, something this good shouldn't cost so much less than everything else, right? But ever since the first OnePlus phone, the company has gained a small-but-growing fan base in the US.The OnePlus 6T runs on the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chip as most top Android devices from 2018 that cost $750 or more, like the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus, Google Pixel 3 XL, LG V40, and LG G7.That's likely because OnePlus phones run a comparatively light "skin" — an extra layer of software that runs on top of Android for extra features and design elements.
If you're looking for a killer deal on a pre-owned iPhone, then you've come to the right place. For a limited time, Sprint is offering a pre-owned iPhone 8 for just $6 per month. This offer runs through May 23 and is for new and existing customers who add a new line of service with Sprint's 18-month Flex lease.Apple's iPhone 8 is a solid and reliable phone, featuring a 4.7-inch display, 12MP camera and touch ID fingerprint for secure authorization. The iPhone 8 has the ability to charge wirelessly and offers a battery life that can last a full day on a single charge. This particular deal from Sprint is for a pre-owned device, which means it may have visible wear and tear but has been tested for functionality and comes with a 90-day limited warranty.
The Alcatel 3 is expected to sell for roughly $180, or ~140 pounds, which puts it firmly in the “extremely affordable” camp. The inclusion of headphones is certainly welcome. This makes it a good choice for those who don’t like lugging around bulky handsets, which is something a lot of people I know want — especially at this lower price point.Perhaps Alcatel saved a few bucks here to keep the device affordable, but future compatibility is going to become an issue — if not now, then certainly in a couple of years. When booting the phone up from fully powered down, it takes a good 30 seconds for the icons to appear on the home screen. The combination of limited performance, low resolution, slim aspect ratio, and curved edges makes a lot of other day-to-day tasks tiresome.
