Balrampur:Even as the embers of the Hathras incident continue to smoulder, yet another incident of a Dalit woman being gangraped and killed in Balrampur district has taken place.According to reports, a 22-year-old Dalit college student was raped and brutalized in the Gaisari village of Balrampur on Tuesday.Two persons have been arrested in connection with the crime.The woman, a second-year B. Com student, had gone to a college in a nearby town to pay her fees on Tuesday.

According to the family, she also worked in a private firm.The girl did not return home till late in the evening and the family made several attempts to contact her on her phone.Later in the night, the woman reportedly came home in a rickshaw in a semi-conscious state.

She had a cannula injected in her forehand which indicated that she had undergone treatment.Family members said that the woman looked dazed and in a serious condition.

The family rushed her to a nearby hospital, but she died on the way.The family has also alleged that the woman was lethally injected before she was raped.Balrampur Superintendent of Police, Dev Ranjan Verma, said: “The family said that the woman did not reach home on time on Tuesday.

They tried to contact her but could not get in touch.

The relatives took her to a hospital but she died on the way.”According to the mother of the victim, she was unable to speak when she came back home and could only manage to utter the words, “I am in a lot of pain, I won’t survive.”“She had gone to get her admission done at 10 in the morning.

The Republic Day Parade ceremony will commence with the Prime Minister visiting the National War Memorial.He will lead the nation in paying solemn tributes to the fallen heroes by laying a wreath.Thereafter, the Prime Minister and other dignitaries will head to the saluting dais at Rajpath to witness the parade.Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday paid homage to India’s fallen soldiers at the National War Memorial here.The national flag was unfurled followed by the national anthem with a booming 21-gun salute.

Later, Mr Modi penned down his thoughts in the war memorial’s visitor book.The prime minister was accompanied by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh.

Both the leaders were joined by Chief of Defence Staff — General Bipin Rawat, Chief of the Army Staff — General Manoj Mukund Naravane, Chief of the Naval Staff — Admiral Karambir Singh at the site.This is an annual tradition post which the Republic Day Parade commences with President Ram Nath Kovind taking the salute.Before 2020, India Gate was the chosen site for this tradition.

For its amazing contribution to curb the non-communicable diseases and setting sustainable development goals, the United Nations has honoured the state of Kerala.World Health Organization director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus declared the UN Interagency Task Force (UNIATF) award this year on prevention and control of non-communicable diseases.The award takes into account of the work in the prevention and control of NCDs, mental health and the wider NCD-related sustainable development goals (SDGs) done in 2019.Kerala Health Minister K K Shailaja was elated for getting recognized for the tireless service of the state in the health sector.She also appreciated the health workers of the state for their contribution to receive this honour.The state government mentioned how the award was for being able to launch a lifestyle disease control mechanism in Kerala.

South Indian actress Samantha Akkineni on Monday released a beautiful poster of the upcoming Tollywood movie Love Story.The film features her actor husband Naga Chaitanya in the lead role.

Samantha released the poster as it is Naga’s birthday today.

Samantha shared on Twitter the poster and her best wishes for her husband on the occasion of his birthday.

New Delhi: The NIA spokesperson said that the anti-terror probe agency carried out the simultaneous raids at several locations in Kerala’s Ernakulam and West Bengal’s Murshidabad after learning about an inter-state module of Al Qaeda operatives at various locations in India.“The group was planning to undertake terrorist attacks at vital installations in India with an aim to kill innocent people and strike terror in their minds,” the spokesperson said, adding that it has registered a case on September 11.The official said that NIA has arrested six terrorists from West-Bengal and three from Kerala in the early morning raids.During the raids, large quantity of incriminating materials including digital devices, documents, jihadi literature, sharp weapons, country-made firearms, a locally fabricated body armour, articles and literature used for making home-made explosive devices have been seized from their possession.“As per preliminary investigation, these individuals were radicalised by the Pakistan-based Al Qaeda terrorists on social media and were motivated to undertake attacks at multiple places including the National Capital Region,” the official said.The official said that the module was actively indulging in fund raising and a few members of gang were planning to travel to New Delhi to procure arms and ammunition.

American character actor Thomas Jefferson Byrd was shot and killed in Atlanta, Georgia on Saturday, says a report.Thomas is known for his roles in many of Spike Lee’s films such as Clockers, Bamboozled, Ray and Brooklyn’s Finest.Thomas died at the age of 70.

The Atlanta police Homicide detectives are figuring out the reasons and situation behind Thomas’s death.Some reports say that Thomas was found dead by the Atlanta police with multiple gunshot wounds in the early hours of Sunday.Thomas has acted for all the mediums such as theatre, television and movies.He was selected for the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play for his performance in the 2003 Broadway revival of Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.
