Edinburgh is a city with fantastic locations, ranging from large concert halls to small theaters and each one offers amazing architecture inside.

More than 3000 performances in 300 different places, it is very easy to mismanage your time during Edinburgh festivals.

But, with a little planning, you can be sure to see everyone's best pieces. Here is a summary of the five different festivals in August. The Edinburgh Royal Military TattooThe Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo has been impressing crowds against the backdrop of Edinburgh Castle for years, and the custom-built seats around the Castle Esplanade are impressive.

Fans can buy Edinburgh Tattoo Tickets online.Even more impressive is that the wind or the rain comes, the show has never been canceled!

While the weather is unpredictable in Scotland, the show has always continued, and even if the rain falls, the fantastic atmosphere and the whole castle make up for it.Edinburgh Festival FringeThe Edinburgh Festival Fringe is probably the most famous of the five, which literally gives it control of the whole city.

Performers from around the world bring their shows here and as long as they can find a place, they have a show. With thousands of performers and shows from around the world, this mix of comedy, dance, acrobats and many other performing arts wows international crowds, from circus tents to underground crossroads. For street performers, The Royal Mile is a central hub for action with, flyers and the chance to sample some of the performances as well as buy tickets at the official Fringe store. The Fringe isn't just limited to shows, many events and activities such as Silent Disco tours offer plenty of ways to keep you entertained while buzzing with breweries all over the city to help you enjoy the atmosphere.Edinburgh International Book FestivalWhen you think of a book festival, your mind is probably walking through a large bookstore where people drink cups of tea and exchange tips for the next read. They have bookstores, three in fact, and they serve an average cup of tea, but there is so much more going on at Charlotte Square Gardens, the beautiful, generally closed square where the Book Festival takes place, that it really deserves to be part of your visit to Edinburgh in August. You will have the opportunity to hear from many authors that you may not have heard of before reading segments of their books and sharing their passion behind it.Edinburgh Art FestivalInnumerable different forms make up the definition of art, and the lines can sometimes seem blurred through the five Edinburgh festivals in August, but like the diverse program offered at the Art Festival, the places are just as intriguing.Edinburgh is full of hidden gems and places to explore slightly off the beaten track, and the Edinburgh Art Festival is a great way to see the city while enjoying a wide range of great cultural expressions. From classical music in churches converted to pop-up events in wildlife gardens, the art festival program is brimming with local and international talent and will have you reconsider what art can be.“Festivals provide a safe space for people to explore and experience new things and people navigate a festival with an element of surprise.

The last military action at the castle took place during the second Jacobite uprising in 1745.

The Jacobite army, under Charles Edward Stuart, captured Edinburgh without a fight in September 1745, but the castle remained between at the hands of General George Preston, who refused to surrender.

The Edinburgh Tattoo Tickets can be booked online. After their victory over the government army at Prestonpans on September 21, the Jacobites attempted to block the castle.

Preston's response was to bombard Jacobite positions in the city after the demolition of several buildings and the death of four people, Charles lifted the blockade. The Jacobites themselves did not have heavy weapons to respond, and in November they entered England, leaving Edinburgh to be the garrison of the castle.

The uprising would eventually perish on Culloden field in April of the following yearDuring the following century, the vaults of the castle were used to hold prisoners of war during several conflicts, notably the Seven Years' War (1756-1763), the American Revolutionary War (1775-1783) and the wars Napoleonic (1803-1815).

After a massive escape of prisoners in 1811, it ceased to be used as such from 1814.The Edinburgh castle regularly began to assume a different role as a national monument.

The tattoo is just closer to its 70th birthday that is celebrating in August 2020.

Tattoo fans who want to join this iconic festival can buy Edinburgh Tattoo Tickets from our most consistent and unfailing online platform. The dates for the other four Edinburgh August festivals in 2020 are as follows:Edinburgh International Festival: 7 – 31st August 2020Edinburgh Festival Fringe: 7 – 31st August 2020Edinburgh International Book Festival: 15 – 31st August 2020Edinburgh Art Festival: 30 July – 30th August 2020Tips for attending the Edinburgh Festivals in AugustHaving gone through the five major August festivals including Edinburgh Military Tattoo, you must have to consider just a few tips that’s help you to make you jorney memorable in Edinburgh.First, and this should be quite obvious from the post, just remember that you don’t need to limit yourself to just one festival when you’re visiting Edinburgh during August! Many people focus on the Edinburgh Military Tattoo, but there are five other festivals going on throughout the month, and taking the time to check out some of those during your visit. Our next tip would be to plan for the weather to be, well, variable.

Scotland is relatively far north, and whilst you do get sunny and warm days in August, these are by no means guaranteed, and temperatures can vary from 10C – 30C (50F – 86F).It can also rain pretty much anytime, and if you’re attending a night time performance of the Tattoo in particular, which is in a fairly exposed spot, you need to be prepared for most eventualities. Our suggestion would be to dress in layers, carry a small poncho, and just roll with whatever Scotland decides to throw at you.Our third tip would be to leave yourself plenty of time to get from venue to venue.

Central Edinburgh is very walkable, so getting around on foot is going to be your best option, but be aware that the crowds of people can make this process a little slower than you might otherwise imagine. If you learn some of the city shortcuts, and in particular the closes that run off the Royal Mile, you can save yourself some time, and if possible, try to avoid the congested areas. Our last tip is around the accommodation.

Edinburgh gets seriously busy in August, and hotel occupancy can be as high as 97%, with rates much higher than the rest of the year.

In fact, finding accommodation can be such a challenge, that it’s worth breaking it out into its own section.

On Monday 8 May 2017, more than 30 clan members and clan wives went to the Great Hall at Edinburgh Castle to mark an extremely important occasion in the history books of Scotland.

Tattoo fans can buy Edinburgh Tattoo Tickets from our most consistent and unfailing online platform. It was the first time that clans from Scotland have been welcomed into the castle since the Highland clans marched to the city of Edinburgh to besiege the castle during the Jacobite uprisings in 1745.The rally was organized by the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo which celebrated the celebration its own ties to the Scottish diaspora this year. The gathering of the Scottish diaspora community would be the only time clans have been openly hosted in one of Scotland's oldest fortresses.

Clan members were treated to a guided tour of the medieval surroundings of the Great Hall where their ancestors attempted to enter, courtesy of Edinburgh Castle Governor, Major General Mike Riddell-Webster, and organized by the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo. In September 1745, over 900 members of the Highland clan traveled to the city of Edinburgh to besiege the castle.

Although they managed to capture Edinburgh and Holyrood, in an extremely symbolic gesture, they never managed to capture the castle as a general guest, governor of the time, would not cede the castle to Bonnie Prince Charlie and his men.Sir Malcolm MacGregor:Sir Malcolm MacGregor, the organizer of the Permanent Council of Scottish Chiefs, said: "It is a great honor for 57 clans and chiefs to participate in such a prestigious event as the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo this year. There will be representatives of clans from around the world, consistent with the high international profile of Tattoo and the global nature of today's clan network.

"Fiona Hyslop:Fiona Hyslop, Minister for Culture and External Affairs said: "Scotland's history and heritage are a key attraction for visitors to Scotland, no more than in 2017, the year of history, heritage and archeology.Clans are an integral part of our rich heritage, their stories shaping Scotland.

The clans are arousing considerable interest from the international diaspora and I salute their involvement in this year's Tattoo.
