Working from home has its many advantages.

And working from home with two 3-year-olds can be filled with unexpected moments.

I'm sure other parents can relate to the "I WANT A SNACK" crisis that seems to happen throughout the day...usually very hour.

Well here is Olivia in full SNACK mode.

Someone please get this girl some water and a snack!

After months of quarantine, we were itching to see family back in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

We finally bit the bullet, packed the car, and took the 17-hour road trip down to Florida. The kids were amazing and enjoyed the endless snacks, unrestricted iPad time, random stops, sights, and little adventures along the way.

Yes there was a speeding ticket involved, yes we may have run out of gas, and YES I may have initially left my wallet at home...BUT the impromptu Katy Perry dance session made it all better. With the kids out of school for so many months, it has been a series of ups, downs, laughs, and tears.

This year has been filled with experiences that we never would have had otherwise.

Memories have been made that we are so grateful for.

Our adventure in Harbour Island continues as we explore on a golf cart and stumble upon old cannons.

Connor quickly takes a liking to the cannons and decides to tell the entire island that the cannonballs are coming.

Once we learned that we were trespassing on government property, we hightailed it out of there and found ourselves doing cannonballs in the pool.Olivia discovers her eyeball, while Connor only wants his dump truck, digger, monster truck, and backhoe.

Thanks, Axel Show and Blippi for the new obsession!Oh, and, please do not pee in pools.

Yuck! Two dads, two kids, this trip has been loads of weird and fun.

Olivia and Connor have taken to making breakfast in the morning, most importantly, my coffee.

I don't believe in child labor, but I do believe in them doing the dishes, laundry, cleaning the house, and making our meals.

Mostly.Chris and I have always taught Connor and Olivia that they are filled with all the magic of the universe, that they are capable of doing anything.

So it's not uncommon that they use their special powers on a day-to-day basis for even the most mundane of tasks, like melting butter or preparing the Keurig.

Samantha Stevens would be proud. And apparently don't ever ask me how many eggs are in a dozen.

Because in the grand scheme of life, it's irrelevant.

Chris and I turned a work trip into an extended family vacation at Pink Sands Resort in Harbour Island, The Bahamas.

This was a 9-day adventure with the kids that kept us way off our normal day-to-day schedule and way on course for an awesome trip filled with sandy butts, Olivia's new dead pet lizard (don't ask), Connor's future surfing career, and a newfound love for chickens. The best part about our adventure was seeing the kids embrace a new culture, people, food, and environment with total joy and acceptance.

Connor and Olivia left their mark on Harbour Island and I think it left a mark on them.

Enjoy the videos of our trip -- and the surprise Disney stop on the way back home. This is only Part One, so make sure to check out the rest of the Harbour Island adventure as we upload more videos soon! Two dads, two kids, countless memories.

Our Bahamian adventure nears an end as we explore Eleuthera.

We took a boat from Harbour Island to Eleuthera, rented a Jeep, then drove over 100-miles to Lighthouse Beach.

We heard this remote stretch of paradise is a must-see when on the island, so we packed up for the adventure.

We took the kids to some random farm in Maryland.

The activity list was pretty major and I was ready to pass out by the end of the day BUT we had some good times.

We ate A LOT of food (and I shamelessly stuff my face through most of this video), we joined a coven, went on a creepy hayride, and Connor was offered a job as a squash cleaner.

So all in all, it was a win.

Our adventure in Harbour Island continues with a beach day at Pink Sands Resort.

We stayed at this beautiful property with the kids and were able to enjoy the pink sand beaches and...FOOD.

Lots of food.Connor finally got to attack the ocean with his boogie board, and did it like a pro.

Olivia kept Mr. Lizard, her dead lizard pet, with her at all times -- I'm growing fond of him now.

He's quiet, but a noble companion.Chris and the twins are beach creatures, while I prefer to curl up with a book inside.

We moved from Fort Lauderdale Beach to Baltimore, Maryland -- trading in the sand for snow.

I'm not sure what to say about this video other than it embodies every reason I think Connor is the coolest kid.

I'm not exactly sure why or how any of this started, other than we were having a "submarine party", which entailed dunking our head and toys in a bucket of water.

But the rest...well, it just got a little strange and I LOVE him for it.

As newly located Northerners (by way of South Florida), this holiday season I discovered Christmas trees grow in the wild and you can cut them down like an aspiring lumberjack.Well you don't have to ask me twice.

Chris is a Christmas-aholic and I'm down to do anything that suggests wearing a stylish yet manly plaid coat, so December Christmas tree cutting in 40 degree weather sounded like a really great idea. These two gay dads found the nearest saw, a tree sled (because that's a thing), jumped on a tractor, and found two fancy trees for two very happy twins.

Connor and Olivia were in it for the food and sled ride, especially Connor who learned a new word and seized the opportunity to tell me to "MUSH!"

Next Christmas I'd like to visit the Whole Foods tree factory and purchase our Christmas cheer hassle-free.
