A group of Republican and Democratic party congress members have come together to condemn Hearthstone publisher Activision Blizzard for punishing a player that criticized China. In a separate letter, the same group lambasted Apple for removing an app from its store at the request of China. The group includes Senators Ron Wyden and Marco Rubio as well as House members Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Mike Gallagher, and Tom Malinowski.Earlier this month, Blizzard banned Hearthstone pro Ng Wai “Blitzchung” Chung for saying “liberate Hong Kong — revolution of our age” during a post-match interview. The company has since reduced those punishments to six months and restored Blitzchung’s winnings.“I want to be clear: Our relationships in China had no influence on our decision.”
In Geneva on Monday, the remaining members of the Libra Association held their inaugural meeting, bringing together executives from more than 20 different companies across the world.Much of the meeting was devoted to establish the basic governance of the new association, which before Monday had been more of a proposal than a functional institution. The group named five board members — including Xapo CEO Wences Cesares, Andreessen Horowitz Partner and blockchain lead Katie Haun, and Facebook executive David Marcus, who has been the primary face of the project before now.The members also laid out a number of by-laws laying out the process for electing new board members, voting on proposals and adjudicating disputes.“Given the project’s scale and ambition, there are still a number of challenges to overcome,” Haun said in a statement, “including regulatory compliance.”That compliance has been a particularly sore point for payment processors, many of whom left the association just days before the inaugural meeting.
do you often " Sit and pleading, in order to read a page of text?the Combination of resolution and screen size can result in a wild match, which makes the text on websites very difficult to read. You can always solve this problem by zooming all the page. This is most easily done by holding down the Ctrl key while scrolling with the mouse wheel.Alternatively, you can use the Ctrl key together with the plus and minus keys.the Downside of this is that it changes the size of everything, such as even a picture, and another, and it can make the pages difficult to read for that reason in its place.

The federal government seems increasingly likely to take action on platform giants such as Facebook and Google.Antitrust intervention has emerged as the likely focal point of such efforts. Therefore, even if antitrust enforcement moves forward, as Harvard’s Gene Kimmelman has argued, “social welfare regulations are also required.” This is why there have also been calls for the creation of a new regulatory agency focused on digital platforms.Such an agency would need to be able to address not only concerns about competition but also these broader social welfare concerns. The Federal Communications Commission’s regulatory mandate includes not only assuring adequate competition in the electronic media sector but also assuring that the broader public interest is being served.Within the context of this public interest standard, the FCC has pursued a variety of social welfare objectives, from reducing the digital divide to protecting children from adult content to ensuring that the public has access to a diversity of sources and viewpoints.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it: so the age-old adage goes, and the Sony Alpha A9 was practically perfect when it launched in April 2017.But age eventually catches up with all things and Sony snapper fans have been quietly clamoring for an updated version of the company's pro-level full-frame mirrorless sports camera.Today, the Japanese electronics giant has unexpectedly delivered one, announcing the Sony Alpha A9 II without any fanfare and (somewhat amazingly in 2019) little in the way of pre-release leaks. At first glance, the Sony Alpha A9 II appears to be much like its predecessor, sharing the A9's 24.9MP stacked CMOS sensor under the hood, the same 693 autofocus (AF) points that can cover 93% of the frame and the same 100-51,200 ISO range that's expandable to 50-204,800.Also like the older shooter, the A9 II can capture up to 20fps during continuous shooting with no viewfinder blackout – important for those nail-biting, jaw-dropping sporting moments – and shares the same 60 AF and auto-exposure calculations per second computation speed.Sony has implemented a few tweaks to make the A9 II a faster, smarter snapper than its predecessor, helping bring it up to 2019 standards and further cementing the A9's reputation as the go-to shooter for sports.

“Stranger Things 4” got its first teaser today, courtesy of the official Stranger Things Twitter account. The Netflix series, which is in its fourth season (although the creators, brothers Matt and Ross Duffer, maintain that each installment isn’t really a “season” in the traditional TV sense, but rather more like a movie broken up across multiple episodes), is being renewed alongside an overall film and TV deal with a nine-figure value for the Duffers at Netflix.“Stranger Things” manages a unique blend of sci-fi, horror, 1980s-era nostalgia and coming-of-age teen buddy comedy. It’s among the most successful of Netflix’s original content creations, by most accounts, and also one of the most critically acclaimed.Details about this fourth series are scarce for now, but based on the teaser we can expect the action to move out of Hawkins, the sleepy town that has provided the backdrop for all of the action thus far (minus a very strange outing for main character Elle back in season two).Judging strictly from this preview, we also can probably safely assume that a lot of the action will take place in the “Upside Down,” the fictional dark mirror dimension from where the series villain monsters originate.

To be the “everything store,” Amazon relies heavily on outside merchants from around the world, who sell hundreds of millions of different products through its site.Powering this ecommerce machine is another marketplace that most shoppers will never see—a behind-the-scenes ecosystem of developers whose apps sellers use to run their businesses.Running an Amazon business is fiercely competitive. To streamline their operations, many sellers rely on specialized business apps that tap into the Amazon Marketplace Web Service APIs, which can integrate data including sensitive customer information like names, emails, and delivery addresses. There are tools that automate simple tasks, like printing shipping labels, as well as apps that monitor key metrics like user reviews and sales volumes, which determine whether products appear higher in Amazon’s search results—the most popular way to shop on the site. While Amazon has multiple policies governing the use of these apps and their data, the cottage industry that sprung up around Amazon MWS has been relatively decentralized.
