Our aim should always be to get closer to Allah. The purpose of life, for a Muslim, is to do good in this world and to improve our standing in the Hereafter.

He knows humans best and has outlined the ways for Muslims to draw close to Him.In Sahih Al-Bukhari, the Prophet (PBUH) informed us that Allah’s slaves attain closeness to Him with obligatory religious duties, which are the most beloved to Him.

Hence, we will look at some of the many ways in which this goal can be realized.Get closer to Allah by praying Salah (prayers)A Muslim must perform all of the compulsory acts prescribed in Islam.

Giving alms is one of the prime ways of coming closer to Allah because it helps the poor and needy.Get closer to Allah with Sawm (fasting in Ramadan)Fasting during the month of Ramadan is necessary for all Muslims who are healthy and have undergone puberty.

Being kind and grateful toward them is one of the ways of getting to Paradise.

What is meant by Lailatul Qadr?Laylat al-Qadr, also known as Shab-e-Qadr, Night of Decree, Night of Measures, is an Islamic observance that marks the anniversary of the night Mohammad received the first verses of the Koran (Qu'ran).

Many Muslims devote their time to reading the Koran during this period. What is the most important night of Ramadan and why?Shia Muslims similarly believe that Laylat al-Qadr is to be found in the last ten odd nights of Ramadan but mostly on the 19th, 21st or 23rd of Ramadan with 23rd being the most important night. How is the Night of Power celebrated?Lailat al Qadr (27 Ramadan) - Night of PowerThis is a time that Muslims spend in study and prayer.

Because of this, many Muslims will treat the last 10 days of the month of Ramadan as a particularly good time for prayer and reading the Qur'an.Why is the 27th night of Ramadan so important?Laylat al Qadr commemorates the night in 610 CE when Allah revealed the Koran (Islamic holy book) to the prophet Muhammad.

The common belief that this day occurred on the 26th or 27th day of Ramadan has no Islamic base.

It seems to have originated in Manichaeism where the death of Mani is celebrated on the 27th day of the fasting month.

There is a difference of opinion about the date for Laylat al-Qadr but, in general, it is agreed that it is most likely to be in the last 10 nights of Ramadan, with the odd nights being more likely.

Zakat in Islam is one of the five pillars of the religion that must be followed by all Muslims.

The concept of Zakat is that it is supposed to be a method for Muslims to cleanse and purify their wealth.

Nowadays, almost everyone is completely geared towards making money to fulfill ever-increasing desires.

However, the wishes rarely come to an end, and thus, man is seldom a happy creature.

Thus, not only is this a means of reducing poverty in society, but it is also a very virtuous act. From another point of view, giving Zakat can also reduce crime in a society as people often turn to criminal activities out of desperation when they are in need.

Alms can also help to counter these issues. How to give ZakatOnce a person’s wealth exceeds the minimum account (Nisaab) required for Zakat, and a (Hijri) year passes by, with the person’s wealth staying above the threshold during that period, Zakat becomes mandatory (for he is sahib-e-nisaab).

Before doing just about any action, including things as essential as eating and drinking, Muslims say Bismillah.

According to Musnad Ahmad, the Prophet (PBUH) said that all-important speech or action that commences without remembering Allah is maimed.According to Ibn Kathir, the companion Jabir (r.a.) is reported to have said that when Bismillah was revealed, the clouds shifted eastwards, the winds halted, the ocean became still, animals were hearing it and fire was showered on Satan.

If we forget to say it before eating, we should say ‘Bismillah Fi Awwalihi Wa Akhirih’, which means in the name of Allah at the start and finish. In Shama’il Tirmidhi, Abu Ayyub Ansari said that once while the companions were in the Prophet’s (PBUH) assembly, there was food presented to him.

However, not saying Bismillah when entering the house leads to Satan telling his followers that they have discovered a place to stay for the night, and if one doesn’t say Bismillah when eating, Satan says to his followers that they have uncovered a place to stay for the night along with food.Due to these traditions, Islamic scholars and jurists such as Imam Nawawi stated that it is mustahabb to say Bismillah when entering one’s home.

It secures Allah’s protection for the person from the shayatin.Having relations with one’s wifeIn Sahih al-Bukhari, the Prophet (PBUH) said that saying ‘Bismillah, Allahumma jannibna-sh-shaitan, wa jannibi-sh-shaitan ma razaqtana’ before sexual intercourse will protect any child Allah wills for the couple have from that particular act of intimacy from Satan.Hence, we can see that reciting Bismillah is required before engaging in relations with one’s spouse.

Thus, starting letters with Bismillah is recommended. For pain, as narrated in Sahih Muslim: Recite Bismillah three times (in the name of Allah) and seven times A’oodhoo billaahi wa qudratihi min sharri maa ajidu wa uhadhiru (I seek refuge with Allah and with His Power from the evil that I find and that I fear)Allah’s mercy, and the difference between Bismillah and BasmalahSaying the words Bismillah is referred to as the Tasmiyah.

Parents are always strict about their children’s worldly education, ensuring they don’t neglect their studies.

It also provides ease for those in different time-zones, because they can choose appropriate timings regardless of time-zone differences.

Furthermore, since the tutor is only teaching one child at a time, he can entirely focus on perfecting the child’s recitation.

Parents inevitably have to consider their children’s safety and can never completely guarantee it.However, online Quran learning for kids eradicates this menacing problem.

An example of this could be someone living in a non-Muslim country where the Muslim population is minuscule.Eighth advantage: Consistency and PunctualityThe disciplined professionalism of online Quran tutors ensures that your child’s studies progress smoothly.

There is a famous Hadeeth concerning the unity of the Muslims, in which the community of the believers (ummah) is compared to the human body.

The Prophet (PBUH) pointed out that any issue affecting a part of the body transforms it as a whole.

It is unbecoming of a Muslim to disregard the state of his fellow Muslims.Indeed, if a Muslim is oppressed or wronged, one should not turn a blind eye and undermine his predicament.

When one part of it experiences pain, so does the rest.

There is a Hadith in Sahih Al-Bukhari and Muslim in which the Prophet (PBUH) hopes his followers will comprise half of the people in Heaven. The Prophet PBUH was also known to cry My Ummah, my Ummah in his duas, as mentioned in Saheeh Muslim.

If the massive community of well over a billion believers is unified, any threats facing Islam can be nullified. If we fail to support fellow Muslims, abandoning our brothers and sisters in Islam, we are severely weakened.
