Where to go when you’re in Liverpool's Cavern Quarter

Located in the heart of Liverpool’s iconic Beatles neighbourhood, the Cavern Quarter is a wonderful place to be at any time of the day. It is where The Beatles’ story started and the area derives its name from the world famous Cavern Club, where the Fab Four shot to fame in the 1960s. The area still boasts of a thriving music and arts scene, and is an amazing place to spend your time when you’re in Liverpool.

If you’re staying at serviced apartments in Liverpool’s Cavern Quarter, these are some of the best places to hang-out for a lovely experience:

  • The Cavern Club

The Cavern Club is probably the most famous live music venue in the world, located right in the heart of Liverpool’s Cavern Quarter. The Beatles played here nearly 300 times, making it an important site for fans to visit when they’re in this city. This club in Mathew Street is open seven nights a week and lets you enjoy a range of live music. It is also the finishing point of the Magical Mystery Tour – so if you’re going to see the sights, you can stay back and enjoy some live music and drinks after.

  • Cavern Pub

Located opposite the Cavern Club, this venue presents the very best musicians from Liverpool’s vibrant and legendary live music scene. The solo artists and bands who play here present great original versions of classic songs from the 50s to the present day. From The Beatles to Oasis, Led Zepplin to Stevie Wonder, many great artists have played here and you can see their names displayed on the outside wall of the pub. See if you can spot your favourites!

  • Kaiserkeller

Taking its inspiration from the Bavarian beer halls and The Beatles infamous 1960 Hamburg gig on the continent, the Kaiserkeller is an authentic German sports bar in the heart of Liverpool’s famous Cavern Quarter.  This sports bar shows all the major and minor sporting events on the big screens, along with side entertainment from a traditional Oompah band and the Kaisergirls.

  • Lennon’s Bar

In 1991, a John Lennon fan decided to open a bar dedicated to the legendary singer. Almost 28 years later, the bar still enjoys an enviable place in Liverpool’s Cavern Quarter. Not much has changed since and Lennon’s Bar is easily one of the friendliest bars in Mathew Street. When you’re staying at serviced apartments in Liverpool, hop over there for a drink, share a story, have a laugh and dance all night with your friends.

  • Eric’s

Eric’s Club on Mathew Street is a basement club that was instrumental in the 1960s movement and the rise of ‘Merseybeat’. It is well-known for hosting early performances by several punk and post-punk bands. Stars such as Elvis Costello, The Clash, Joy Division, Ramones, and Sex Pistols are just some of the names who started their musical careers at this well-known club. Eric’s is still popular among locals and tourists alike and is a great place to enjoy local, live music every night.
