How Google SEO Updates Changed Algorithm

We have witnessed two major SEO updates this year and we were not even expecting one. One came in the first quarter of the year in January, and the next one was rolled out last month in May 2020. While the first one did not leave any major effect on search engine rankings, some big sites reported a shift in their rankings after the second update. We are a leading SEO Maryland agency and below, we have deciphered how Google’s algorithm was changed.

Only Rich and Useful Content Will Win

As said by the folks from Google, content is the king yet again. So what’s changed? Well, back in time, there were sites that used to fill their sites with just keywords, and the Google algorithm was weak to detect those. Then the crawlers updated and these were considered unethical ways to rank a website.

After a while, Google was unable to separate good and bad content. Then again crawlers updated and now we always see high-quality content pieces ranked at the top.

After these updates, Google has again updated the search bots to find the best content possible as per the searcher’s intent. If your site is not ranking, you need to update the content and probably also need a blog page.
