Trends in Singapore and Cyberbullying

There has been a marked increase in the number of social media users in Singapore. This is translating into more potential visitors to your site. Currently, there are already over five hundred thousand Facebook users in Singapore.

The growth of Singapore is attributed largely to its increasing internet usage. This is especially true with the Facebook fan page. This shows that over sixty percent of Singtel's network has their own Facebook account. It also shows that this number is steadily increasing as Singtel begins to take its lead on the mobile industry. This is likely attributed to the free SIM cards that Singtel is offering to subscribers.

On the other hand, looking at the actual figures for Singtel's network alone, we can roughly estimate that at least sixty percent of their total population will be connected to mobile connections by the end of the next year or so. Of course, by then Singapore will have introduced mobile connections to the whole of Singapore, as well as the rest of the world. However, the expansion of mobile connections within Singapore is mostly powered by the likes of Vodafone and Samsung-owned arm, Samsung Singapore. These two companies already account for seventy-five percent of the mobile connections available to Singapore citizens by the end of the next year.

By the end of the next year, Singtel will probably have even more than seventy-five percent of their total network connected to mobile connections. This means that in just under four years, Singtel will be making up more than one million mobile connections. If this figure is not big enough for you, then it definitely means that there is no chance that any other telco can catch up before Singtel does. But just because this is going to be a major player on the field in the field of mobile connectivity doesn't mean that other companies can't try and steal a lead. After all, they too are taking advantage of the fact that there is just no way other telcos can match what Singtel can offer. This means that the battle for market share in the telecommunication field in Singapore will be quite fierce between now and January 2021.

In terms of communication technology, whatsapp has already surpassed Facebook and MySpace to become the second most popular messaging application in Singapore. By the end of the next year, it will have more than one hundred and twenty million total users. Whatsapp is currently available for free, but the company is constantly adding more features and removing old ones for minimal costs. This means that by the end of the next year, it will have more than two hundred and fifty new and interesting apps for its users.

The next thing to look out for in Singapore is internet harassment. Singapore is home to many online communities, including the likes of Facebook and Twitter. Cyberbullying is becoming very common especially among younger users. This is because of the increasing popularity of platforms like Facebook, and MySpace which attract a younger crowd. Cyberbullies usually target vulnerable younger users because they do not easily distinguish between the harmless fun on these sites and the potential to inflict physical harm. Singaporean internet users should be especially vigilant against cyberbullying because it not only affects them, but their friends as well.

One of the biggest challenges that the internet community in Singapore will face in the next few years is the proliferation of Singaporean companies that cater to international businesses. These companies usually involve themselves in offshore outsourcing, because they cannot compete with the low cost of labor in countries like India and China. To make matters worse, there are already reports of Singaporean companies engaging in offshore sweatshops where they employ young workers who are compelled to work in terrible conditions. This trend of unethical business practices will undoubtedly fuel the rise of Singaporean internet users who are increasingly conscious about their online privacy.

However, there is still a lot of room for improvement in this regard. A recent study shows that over half of the population uses a Singaporean social media platform at least once a week. The huge majority of these users is still using these platforms to communicate with friends and family, so Singaporean authorities must work hard to curb the use of these sites by the younger generation, and encourage more widespread internet usage within the country.
