LinkedIn & Google X-ray Search

The most wonderful method we discovered is an X-ray Search through Google and here are 3 essential reasons why:

1/ Shows Full Names (without any Premium account)

Advanced Search of LinkedIn allows you to get full profiles only first and second-line connections’. For third-line or no-relationship connections, surnames will be hidden, as you noticed. The major advantage of X-ray search through Google is that LinkedIn will always show the full name, as you will be able to connect with that person. Most (85%) of all LinkedIn profiles are public shown on Google, so could be found by potential clients and employers.

2/ 1000 results in Google vs 100 in a free LinkedIn account

LinkedIn search result depends on your account status, so you will get only 100 persons if your account is free (Basic). It means you get just 10 pages of search results, and you would be offered to purchase Premium account to see more. Using x ray searching via Google, you’re permitted to get up to thousands and thousands of results. It'd cost a lot of money to display 1000+ results in a paid LinkedIn account.

3/ Search across Multiple Countries and Regions

We described more detailed examples of LinkedIn Xray Search & Boolean Google Searching in our blog, fast example of a request to find candidates from UK and Ireland is:

site:ie.linkedin.com OR site:uk.linkedin.com

You can try another country (countries) just simply changing LinkedIn domain "ie" and "uk". So you can get results not only for one region, as LinkedIn provides by default, you can get a bunch of candidates from different geo-locations.
