Fasting is essential when going for a blood test as it helps in giving an accurate test result and a clear picture of blood cell disorders and infection.

The doctor first considers a blood disease when you go through a serious health issue, to know the reason behind the disease.

7 Essential Blood Tests

Let’s give you a brief on some of the tests. Take a look:-

ESR (Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate)Test

ESR blood test (Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate) checks for any inflammatory blood disease by measuring the protein of the blood. The test is performed in the same manner as the other blood test where the blood sample is collected from the veins of the hand. The collected blood sample is sent to a lab to measure how fast the Red Blood Cells settle at the bottom in a thin test tube.

CBC (Complete Blood Count) Test

The Complete Blood Count Test is a test for checking the number of blood components in the body. The average range of blood components is as follows:-

Blood Components

Average Range

Red Blood Cells

4,3 to 5.9 m/mm3 in Men and 3.5 to 5.5 m/mm3 in women

White Blood Cells

4,500 to 11,000 m/mm3

Blood Platelets

1,50,000 to 4,00,000 m/mm3

Hemoglobin

13.5 to 17.5 g/dL in men and 12.0 to 16.0 g/dL in Women

Hematocrit

41 to 53% in Men and 36 to 46% in Women

CRP Blood Test

CRP is a typical protein formed by the liver and CRP Blood Test detects the high level of protein in the blood. A high level of CRP means inflammatory disease, cancer, bacterial or viral infection.

The C Reactive Blood Test level is less than 0.3 mg/dL, a range from 0.3 to 1.0 mg/dL leads to the condition of insomnia or depression.  A level higher than 10.0 mg/dL causes viral or bacterial disease and more than 50.0 mg/dL causes serious bacterial infection.

BMP (Basic Metabolic Panel) Test

Calcium, sodium, potassium, glucose, bicarbonate, blood urea nitrogen (BUN), creatinine, and chloride are essential compounds in the blood. Any abnormal condition of these compounds causes hormonal disbalance, kidney disease, and diabetes. BMP helps in detecting such disorders in the body to prevent these health conditions.
