A new website called Clickability is a great resource for finding local disability support services victoria. It also has reviews from members of the community.

Scope

Scope provides a wide range of disability services for people with physical, intellectual and multiple disabilities in Victoria. They offer therapy, lifestyle options, supported accommodation and short term accommodation services to enable individuals to live their lives as independently as possible.

Their goal is to provide a safe and caring environment for individuals to achieve their goals. This is achieved through their personalised approach and focus on inclusion and education.

They also have a strong commitment to removing barriers that prevent people with disability from living an equal life. These include barriers related to communication.

In an effort to improve access to their service, Scope sought a solution that would allow them to meet their customer wherever they are in the journey, help to resolve needs through data driven self-service, and arm agents with a centralized platform that could support their expanding call center operations across Australia. They chose NICE CXone to deliver the scalability and call management capabilities they needed.

Victoria College

Victoria College has a long tradition of offering academic support and campus accessibility for students with disabilities. In accordance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and 2008 Amendments, we strive to provide academic adjustments and auxiliary aids to our students who request them.

As one of Canada’s oldest universities, Victoria graduates have become widely recognized innovators, writers, artists, scientists, educators, theologians and political leaders. They include literary critic and scholar, Northrop Frye; Nobel laureate and prime minister, Lester B. Pearson; pioneering doctor, Augusta Stowe-Gullen; and Nobel laureate and co-inventor of the laser, Arthur Schawlow.

Victoria College has also been the home to a number of famous Old Victorians, many of whom changed history in their native countries. These include: King Hussein of Jordan; artist Mahmoud Said; directors Youssef Chahine and Shady Abdel Salam; actor Omar Sharif; and others.

University of Houston-Victoria

University of Houston-Victoria (UHV) is a separately accredited, degree-granting institution in the University of Houston System. Located in Victoria, Texas, UHV is a vibrant destination institution that provides educational and leadership opportunities that empower students to become successful professionals and engaged global citizens.

UHV offers a wide variety of programs to meet the academic needs of diverse students. It serves students on campus in Victoria, through off-campus centers, and online.

In accordance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Americans with

Disabilities Act Amendments Act of 1990, and the ADA Amendments Act of 2008, UHV provides reasonable accommodations to students who request them and require them in order to succeed at the University.

As an instructor, you are responsible for providing appropriate academic adjustments and auxiliary aids in a manner that ensures the success of students with disabilities. You can do this by following a few basic guidelines:

Disability Resource Centre

Many colleges and universities have an office on campus that works with students who are disabled. This office makes sure that campus classes, programs, buildings and services are accessible to people with disabilities.

The Disability Resource Centre is a nonprofit, consumer controlled agency that offers support and advocacy for people with disabilities to live as independently as possible. The organization is led and managed by people with disabilities, with more than 51% of the Board and Staff Members being people with disabilities.

It provides peer support, information and resources, employment services and skills development services to people with disabilities. The Disability Resource Centre has been operating since 1990.

The Disability Resource Centre is located at 1503 Princess Anne Street. In addition to offering a variety of services, the center also recycles and re-uses durable medical equipment. It is a Green Recognition for Office and Workspaces (GROW) certified office.
